God’s Perspective is Worth the Wait!

25 07 2014

bridge reflectionDo God’s plans for the new season feel like a mystery? I see the new season’s plans as 1 Corinthians speak of, as a reflection in a mirror.

For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.

1Co 13:12

It is tough sometimes when you see only a reflection of the future. It is tough to realize that when we look into the future, what we see is sometime transposed, sometimes out of focus like a mirror. But when we look through God’s perspective we can see truth, we can see through His light giving us proper perspective on the future.

I sometimes wish I could see the impact of a decision on the rest of my life. Something like choosing to marry someone will have a major impact while the choice of the color of a car may have little impact. Getting God’s perspective allows me to stop putting the same weight on even the simplest of decisions.

It is in the presence of God that we both wrestle with the future and can get a more accurate value of the weight a decision has in our lives. God might show us the impact of marrying someone if we ask while he might not show us the fun we would have choosing a car’s color, in part because you already know the impact of the car’s color upon your life.

Getting God’s perspective is worth the wrestling, it is worth the wait and it is worth the time an energy it takes to settle your self down enough to hear His Still Small Voice!

Blessings and Complete Joy,

Millie

Jeremiah, a Challenge to Believe

18 07 2014

I know the plans.. These words from Jeremiah 29:11 are both a challenge to believe and a promise to plant our faith in.

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. Jer 29:11 KJV

God first spoke these words to the Jews during their first captivity, in Babylon when God’s people were being deceived by false prophets who were rising up to speak into the people of Israel.

The things we have gone through are not in some cases unlike the captivity of the Jews. Good or bad those experiences are part of who we are today. We can choose to look back and turn into a pillar of salt as Lot’s wife did or we can look forward standing on the truth that God does love you, he has plans and a purpose for your life.

I love this verse in the NIV:

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Jer 29:11

As you walk closer and closer with God allow yourself to trust and believe the promises God releases in your life and for those who have never had this Jeremiah 29:11 promised released into your life… today is that day, as you embrace the truth of both your captivity and the coming freedom of the new season!

Blessings and Complete Joy, Millie

Walking in Sync with God!

11 07 2014

pathI believe that God is calling you and I in this season to a deeper level of relationship that will sustain us for the coming season and beyond.

What is syncing with God?

Being in sync (short for synchronization) with God is to walk in step with God.

Every client I see knows I pray Lord, lead, direct and guide us so that we know, understand and follow your will. This is syncing with the Lord, it is seeking out His will and allowing our will to sync with His. As we coming into His presence our wills are so small and so self absorbed in the face of God’s will that we look at everything with a fresh new perspective.

In the 1990’s the big things was having a quiet time with the Lord, a time of bible study and prayer where we bring our requests to God.

In 2014 and beyond we need to be in sync with God in the face of gay marriage and drugs such as marijuana, being legalized. It is an abomination when in North Carolina a legislator put forth a petition with all forms of sexual orientation was introduced that included both pedophilia and sexual abuse just to make a point.

When will those who love God and are called according to His purpose walk in step with Him, being in sync with all the plans He has for us and for the communities we live in?

Blessings and Complete Joy,
Millie

Keys to Faith – Trust

27 06 2014

9226064_sAnother Key to walking by faith and not by sight is trust.

Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.

Pro 3:5-6

A child instinctively trusts their parents. Trust is something deep within us, until it is destroyed by some outside force. Praying ChildIf a parent reveals by their words or actions they can’t be trusted then their child learns to distrust the world around them. As we understand the world around us we begin to let go of trusting the Lord, choosing instead to trust in those things we can touch, taste and feel, rather than the still small voice of the Lord which has been with us since our conception!

As adults we choose who and what we trust. This is what the Psalmist is speaking of when he wrote, “Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the LORD our God.” Psa 20:7. David chose for himself and his people Israel to trust in the Lord!

Since the creation of the world mankind has struggled with walking by faith and not by sight. It is in allowing ourselves to trust in the Lord that we walk by the faith. It is in walking by faith that mountains move, changing the world!

Join me next time when we talk about syncing with God!

Blessings and Complete Joy,

Millie

Keys of Faith – to believe

20 06 2014

9226064_sWalking by faith and not by sight requires us to several things, the greatest of these is to believe!

“And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.”
Hebrews 11:6

Believing is key to walking by faith and not by sight. When we believe God is who He said he is, then wezagart701 - landscape can have faith to walk knowing, He will do what He said He is going to do. Without belief in God we walk around “doing” good things based on what we can see with our own eyes which can lead even the best of Christians in to a life lacking the miraculous moves of God we were created to embrace by faith!

Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
Heb 12:1

Join me next time when we talk about another Key to Faith –  trust.

Blessings and Complete Joy,

Millie

Walking by Faith and Not by Sight!

13 06 2014

9226064_sSo much of our walk in this new season is by faith and not by sight! Recently I was in the NE corner of Oregon leading a group of people to re-establish the cornerstone of Christ. These journeys are always filled with surprises as we walk in faith!

We got to La Grande, Oregon and found out the Highway we hoped to travel the next morning was closed with 15 feet of snow. So as my co-leader put it, we were re-routed!

We got up the next morning having decided to travel up the highway as far as we could and then visit a retreat center owned by friends of one of our Idaho team in the hopes of planting the tree someone had brought! As we traveled, we got lost going up the wrong highway for almost an hour, making us two hours late into Joseph to meet the final group from Idaho. They literally prayed us into Joseph!

After lunch we drove to the Indian cemetery where we prayed and then traveled on to the retreat center. As we got there it was pure joy to finally be somewhere we could worship and pray. Everyone anticipating planting our tree.

Little did we know the blessings God had in store for us as the couple who owned the retreat center welcomed us with open arms even having two places ready for trees to be planted! What a blessing we felt as they joined us in the chapel for a time of worship and prayer. It was then I began to cry as I remembered the Lord’s words, “you are to go to retreat center in the NE corner of Oregon” and here we were!

What a sweet time it is when we walk by faith and not by sight!

Blessings and Complete Joy,
Millie

All Things work together for good, especially CHANGE?

6 06 2014

15417025_sEveryone I know is experiencing some kind of life change. For me with the fallowing and dormancy has come another change, I am becoming an evening person.

At first I didn’t realize the Lord was taking me off the morning watch to join the evening watch. This is a greater transition that I really understood, as for over 30 years I have got up at 4am and some times earlier to pray and begin my day. My friend’s joke, to carry on a conversation where I am an active participate they have to call before 7pm.

In the beginning, I felt like a fish out of water and so alone, I called a friend in tears when my husband went to bed 4 oclock faceearly. Now 6 months later I am becoming comfortable with this change, yet some things are still difficult, like having an evening quiet time. I don’t know how people have quiet times in the evening with the Lord without falling fast asleep!

My current challenge is letting go of getting up at 4am. Gone is my quiet time and an early morning swim before breakfast as I learn to sleep until 5:30 or 6am. I am still working to adjust my schedule to have a consistent quiet time after breakfast while making it to the office on time. I don’t have the simplest questions figured out, do I cancel my gym membership and how do I exercise? I know with time I will figure it all out. All things work together for good, even getting up at 6am?

I have to let go and let God re-arrange my life and schedule. I see glimpses of the future, as He is calling me to be more involved with the body of Christ in the evening.

Change is as much an adventure as it is a painful process. In this season of change, take comfort for our God is Greater and will see us all through every change we face!

Blessings and Complete Joy,
Millie
