Inspired to Stand Firm!

31 01 2012

As we bring these thoughts about standing firm in 2012 to a close for now I want to remind you of something profound my pastor said.

God brings inspiration while satan bring temptation.

“When tempted, no one should say, ‘God is tempting me.’ For God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does he tempt anyone; but each one is tempted when, by his own evil desire, he is dragged away and enticed. Then, after desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, gives birth to death.” James 1:13-15

The temptation to stop waiting and standing firm doesn’t come from God, each one is tempted when by his own desires, allowing themselves to be dragged away. You and I have to remember that to stand firm we must also stand against our own desires as well as the desires of the enemy.

Early in this first chapter of James he tells us that perseverance must finish it work of bringing us into maturity! Your struggle to stand firm is never in vain, for maturity takes time and God knows you are worth it! That same passage tells us if you lack wisdom you should ask God and he gives generously to all without fault. This verse comforts me so, read more of James chapter 1 and be inspired to stand!

Blessings and Complete Joy,

Millie

Why We Have to Wait

28 01 2012

Last time we talked about waiting with expectancy for the promise. We learned the key to waiting with expectancy is to watch for God to show up. Too often we lose the joy of a promise fulfilled because we have not learned to wait, so today we are going to talk about why we have to wait.

God is going to show up long before the day your promise is fulfilled, to build a spiritual relationship with you. Often those days, weeks, months and years you spend walking with the Lord waiting for the promise to be fulfilled, afford your Heavenly Father the time to reveal He desires to supply all your spiritual and emotional needs, before your promise. He cares for the eternal as much as we care for the flesh!

Yes, walking those long days are hard, but if you allow your relationship with the Lord to grow, gone will be the days of thinking God is like your favorite bank of candy machines where you go to get your favorite blessing. You will learn no amount of prayer or offering is going to bring your promise about any faster. God waited to establish a spiritual a relationship to sustain you long after the glorious day your promise is fulfilled.

So I encourage you to enjoy the journey with God until the day your promise is fulfilled!

Blessings and Complete Joy,

Millie

Waiting with Expectancy

24 01 2012

When I think of waiting with expectancy I think of a Child waiting for Christmas morning to come because they know great things await them as they open up the gifts under the tree.

When we wait with expectancy for the promises of the Lord do we wait with the same enthusiasm? Often we carry that promise as a burden in our adult life because unlike the child, we know the promises don’t turn our as we expect. When the Christ came, no one was expecting a baby, but that is how God intended for the salvation of the world to unfold. If scripture has taught us anything, we have learned, the promises of God work out in the timing of God and unfold in ways only known to God.

So waiting with expectancy is hard to do. What we need to do is to expect God to show up! If we watch and wait for Him in the situation rather than for him to do something for us, we will never be disappointed.

I have waited for several promises, one of which was my spiritual daughter to marry. She and carried this promise together for many years, she focused on the promise and as the years went on I couldn’t make it without turning my eye to how God was showing up. He molded my daughter and He changed her perspective and as He did she became the wife her husband needed her to be.

I believe we must watch and wait expectantly for God to show up, to comfort us, to teach us, to change us. The awe of the Christ child, touch everyone, from the angelic beings to the shepherds in the fields and the kings from far off lands. Who knew a baby could do so much, only God knew for He knows the hearts of man.

Wait with expectancy for God to reveal himself as you wait for every promise and you will never be disappointed!

Blessings and Complete Joy,

Millie

In 2012, Stand Firm

21 01 2012

In 2011 I saw many promises come to past and yet for others, they still wait. In 2012 we must stand firm, for God has anointed us, sealed us and put His spirit in our heart as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come.

For no matter how many promises God has made, they are “Yes” in Christ. And so through him the “Amen” is spoken by us to the glory of God. Now it is God who makes both us and you stand firm in Christ. He anointed us, set his seal of ownership on us, and put his Spirit in our hearts as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come. 2 Corinthians 1 :20-22

Standing firm is never fun, in 2012 we will continue to see God’s promises come to pass as we stand firm. As I prepare for the Igniting the Kingdom ~ The Shalom Blessing I am waiting for God. I began waiting in 2007 when I began Complete Joy Ministries.

Since then I have seen God birth God’s Shakan, a committed group of people who have joined me in partnering with God to see His glory fall here in Portland. It is a foretaste of what God is going to do through NW Gatekeepers as we watch and wait expectantly for our Savior to return.

We must wait with expectancy. Next time we will talk about waiting with expectancy.

Blessings and Complete Joy,

Millie

My Blunder, God’s Grace

17 01 2012

In 2012 we will find so much going on that we will make some blunders. Be careful not to blame the enemy when in reality by taking responsibility you allow God grace to bless you.

Recently while working on my computer and needed to change the wax in my wax burner, but forgetting it was still too hot to handle I spilled some on my open notebook screen and keyboard.

Because I wasn’t thinking, I could have lost everything on my computer if the keyboard didn’t work, so I backed up everything on my external hard drive and then went about the job of getting as much of the wax off as I could. Janet, a friend, called and she said that the enemy was always causing problems. This was far from the enemy’s work, I got busy and made a big blunder.

Out of God’s grace came several wonderful things. First I did the first of the year back up of all my files, which I hadn’t done yet. Second I found in pulling off each key on my keyboard, I got all the other junk under the keys. God grace is amazing because after spending an hour cleaning my computer I feel like I have a new computer because the keyboard works so well.

The third thing was my husband and I looked seriously at replacing this computer which often shows its processing age and I made a commitment to revisit this after the Igniting the Kingdom Gathering in February, providing I have the money. I have been saving my pennies so to speak to get the new computer, but figured it would be an end of 2012 purchase.

I am reminded of God’s grace and provision in my life every time the computer warms up for I can still smell the aroma of Black Cherry and Vanilla from the wax that I spilled on the key board! God took my blunder through his grace and has made it a wonderful thing!

Blessings and Complete Joy,

Millie

Rest, Rejoice and PRAISE in 2012

14 01 2012

Last time we talked about Rejoicing with God and in this blog we will talk about praising our God in 2012.

Praise has several different meanings, to prize, to express a favorable judgment of or to glorify/worship.

As I look at these meanings of praise, I see how I glorify/worship God and how my praise gives favorable judgment of God but do I prize him as much as I should?

When I stand in worship and sing songs with others at church, am I really prizing God or am I just giving him my favorable judgment? So much of our praise is more of the favorable judgment, because we prize something above Him.

In 2012 we must take seriously how we praise our God. I am reminded; Thou shall have no other God! WE must prize him above all else, for when we do, we will have faith to see him move in amazing ways!

Blessings and Complete Joy,

Millie

Rest, REJOICE and Praise in 2012

10 01 2012

Last time we talked about Resting in God, in this blog we are going to talk about Rejoicing with God in 2012.

To rejoice is defined by Webster’s as “to feel joy or great delight”. How often do we rejoice at a football game when our team makes a touchdown or better yet when they win the game? We rejoice with our family and friends when something wonderful happens like the birth of a baby, but do we ever think to rejoice with Lord?

To join God in rejoicing you must first understand that God rejoices: “As a young man marries a maiden, so will your sons marry you; as a bridegroom rejoices over his bride, so will your God rejoice over you”. ISA 62:5   God not only rejoices but he rejoices over us, for he loves us and is pleased with us.

Most of us can rejoice in God, Psalms 9:1-2 is one example; I will praise you, O LORD, with all my heart; I will tell of all your wonders. I will be glad and rejoice in you; I will sing praise to your name, O Most High. Psalms 9:1-2

Other of us can rejoice before him: But may the righteous be glad and rejoice before God; may they be happy and joyful. Sing to God, sing praise to his name, extol him who rides on the clouds– his name is the LORD — and rejoice before him. PS 68:3-4

Isaiah 65:18-19 shows us, to rejoice with God is to recognize what He is doing and come into agreement with Him, then choose to rejoice with Him. “But be glad and rejoice forever in what I will create, for I will create Jerusalem to be a delight and its people a joy. I will rejoice over Jerusalem- and take delight in my people; the sound of weeping and of crying will be heard in it no more”. ISA 65:18-19

God rejoices in our everyday lives and I believe knowing this fact that God rejoices over us is key to our rejoicing with Him!

Join me next time as we talk about “Praising” our God!

Blessings and Complete Joy,

Millie

REST, Rejoice and Praise in 2012

7 01 2012

I am getting ready to do the first Igniting the Kingdom ~ The Shalom Blessing gathering in seven weeks! This has been a nine month process and I feel like I am spiritually giving birth!

As I worked on my timeline calendar I found myself writing what was most important in a reminder box. Rest in God, Rejoice with God and Praise Him! These three things are very important in 2012!

The word rest can mean several things, to sleep, to lean, and what remains. The latter is how we think of rest, what we do after all else is accomplished.

We don’t think about the importance of rest, yet our bodies require 6 – 8 hours of sleep out of every 24. We can’t function for long without sleep and rest. Stress steals our ability to rest, which is why we must take time to rest. For years the month of January has been a month of rest for me, this year is different for I am gearing up for this gathering.

God has made it very clear that resting in Him is first on my to-do list! It isn’t about journaling, it is all about resting in Him. I get this wonderful picture of floating in the water and casting my cares on Jesus as He floats me down the gentle stream.

The Psalmist tell us, Find rest, O my soul, in God alone; my hope comes from him. PS 62:5

Join me next time when we talk about Rejoicing with God!

Blessings and Complete Joy,

Millie

Letting the Sunrise in 2012!

3 01 2012

One morning while bringing packages in from the car, my husband said, “You will want to go out and look at the sunrise, it is amazing”.

I went outside and saw the most amazing colors of red, orange and blue and as I marveled at the beauty of the sunrise, my spirit began to sing. This is the day the Lord has made I will rejoice and be glad in it! As I turned to walk back into my home I remembered someone once telling me, it is the pollution which makes the colors of the sunrises and the sunsets so brilliant.

Closing the door, I began thinking about how our personal lives can do the same thing, when we allow God to touch our personal pollution, for when he does he heals us and changes us, revealing His glory and grace.

It takes stepping out in trust and faith. It takes believing that God is truly bigger and can handle those things we couldn’t and sometimes still can’t handle. God is like the sky, he surrounds us and yet he allows our sin to affect our atmosphere, so that when we allow his glory to heal and change us, the brilliance of His glory is on display for all to see!

In 2012 let God touch your personal pollution to heal and change you, so that through you He can reveal His glory and grace!

Blessings and Complete Joy,

Millie
