Critical Change

17 07 2015

tabernacle tent to buyWe just finished a series called maturity in our ever shifting atmosphere.  So today we are switching gears and looking at critical change.

In this new season God is making critical changes in all our lives. One of the greatest points of critical change in the bible is the choice of the Israelites not to trust God (Number 14), costing them 40 years and countless lives in the process.

I have hit one of these critical changes with the arrival of the Oregon Tabernacle Tent. The Lord had called me to change my prayer life, to believe for the big things and to walk pressing into the deeper calling He has for my life.

I have had to evaluate everything I am involved in, how I spend my time and expend my energy. God has given me a new assignment to be the shepherd and caretaker of the Oregon Tabernacle Tent as part of Complete Joy Ministries. It is a

traveling extension of our Shalom Oregon House of Prayer. God has set forth the plans and it is my choice to see the giants in the land and say no, and stand in the shadow of an almighty God and take the ride of my life.

And so I choose life, it isn’t the easy thing, it meant that when no one in Portland would help put the tent together I stepped out and asked people from our state capitol 50 miles away to come to my aid. They are not only providing a place to set it up for the first time but they are providing a team to put it together. God further confirmed this was the right things to do as He gave them a vision of for a wooden floor to go under and secure the tent as well. God is providing more than I could ask for or imagine, securing this truth: I am on the ride of a life time, and on track to see the miracles and the wonders of God!

Be strong and courageous in those areas requiring you to make critical change and always remember these words from Jeremiah 29:11

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future”.

Blessings and Complete Joy,

Millie

Finishing Well

10 07 2015

mountain and valley1We are in a series called maturity in our ever shifting atmosphere.  Last time we explored God-given maturity and beginning well. Today we are looking finishing well.

When I think of finishing well these words, he who began a good work in you… from Philippians 1 come to mind. Let’s look at the whole verse.

“In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now, being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.”

Php 1:4-6

Paul is speaking of those people who partnered with him in the spreading of the gospel. He is confident that God who began a good work in them, to follow Christ, will carry them through to the very last day of their lives.

The key to finishing well is relying on God. Hebrews 12:2 tells us “fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and finisher of faith”. It is in keeping your eyes focused on God and looking to at Jesus’ life as our model we learn how to finish well.

Two years ago, God gave a vision of an Oregon Tabernacle Tent and how 10 people would sew into this work and finance thetabernacle tent to buy purchase of this tent. Some have prayed into this vision, others have given to its purchase and this week CJM purchased the 20×20 tent. This phase of the journey is finishing well, having come through the believing for its purchase. It took keeping our eyes focused on God, his plans and purposes to see it come into reality. It seems a long time coming, yet as CJM purchased the tent I thought, “really God are we ready to move forward?” So we are off to another beginning and I know God will bring the Oregon Tabernacle Tent mission to completion as we keep our eyes fixed and focused on him!

Blessings and Complete Joy,

Millie

Beginning Well!

3 07 2015

mountain and valley1We are in a series called maturity in our ever shifting atmosphere.  Last time we explored God-given maturity and what it is in an ever shifting atmosphere. Today we are looking at beginning well in an every shifting atmosphere.

How we begin is key! Let’s look at the story in I Samuel 3. It is the story of Eli teaching Samuel his apprentice to listen to God.  Three times young Samuel hears someone calling to him, and thinking it was Eli he went to him. Once Eli understood what was happening, he rightly turned Samuel’s focus upon the one calling him, his Lord.

For Samuel this was the beginning of a relationship with his Lord. As we begin new things, God allows us to have those around us like Eli who can recognize what is going on and direct us. OurLeadership challenge is to walk in maturity by not getting down on ourselves when the answer seems simple, choosing instead to humble ourselves as Samuel did to say, “Speak Lord, your servant is listening”.

This is what it is to walk in a new depth of maturity in this shifting atmosphere, by beginning well. Enjoy your new adventures, allow yourself to begin well, taking advice from those around you!

So as you begin your new adventures, meditating on these words in Proverbs 3:5-6; “Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.”

Blessings and Complete Joy,

Millie

Markers of Maturity

12 06 2015

11087581_sWe are in a series called maturity in our ever shifting atmosphere.  Last time we explored God-given maturity learning our obedience is through agreeing with God’s plans and purposes. In this post we will look at maturity what it is in an ever shifting atmosphere.

What is maturity? Maturity is being fully developed. Maturity is not something we can learn in a moment rather it is a state of being. Hebrews 12 gives several markers of maturity.

“Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.”

Heb 12:1-2

It takes maturity, years of practice to be able to throw off every hindrance. It takes starting and stopping, trying and failing to Leadershipcome to that place where you are fully developed and able to throw off sin “to run with perseverance the race marked out for us”. It is in being mature, we keep our eyes focused on the author and perfector of our faith (NIV) no matter the cost. This final sentence in Heb 12-2 sums it up the value of maturity, for we like Christ can endure the tribulation our lives bring as we run the race marked out by God for each of us!

Join me next time as we talk more about maturity as we learn the value of starting and stopping in this ever shifting atmosphere

Blessings and Complete Joy,

Millie

Maturity through Obedience

22 05 2015

11087581_sWe are in a series called maturity in our ever shifting atmosphere.  Last time we explored God-given maturity through relationship. Today we explore maturity through obedience in an ever shifting atmosphere.

Webster defines Obedience: to come into compliance with the demands or requests of one in authority. Listen to these words from Proverbs.

Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.

Proverbs 3:5 – 6

God invites us through relationship to trust and obey Him. Without relationship obedience is like an evil task master or an overbearing boss because this obedience is out of fear not relationship. What will get us through these ever shifting times as we await Messiah’s returns is listening to God and trusting him so we come into agreement (obey) him.

Recently God asked a curious thing of me, “not to leave the city limits of Portland, Oregon for a month” and because of our faith challengerelationship I have come into agreement with His request. It is a choice to obey and for me to obey is joy. During this time one friend said “it is like in Acts 1:4 when the disciples were told not to leave Jerusalem”. Another friend said “God is setting you apart”, while my husband and I believed in the beginning it was for my protection. I suspect some if not all of these are true!

Obedience can be tough and for me it has been. I can’t visit my daughters and grandkids who lives outside the city limits of Portland, I missed going to the big NDP event and worst of all I couldn’t get the items I needed to fix my husband’s sweater! Thank God for the internet.

The steps of obedience to God which lead to maturity are always a challenge as much as they can be an adventure, Father make them in this season pure joy!

Blessings and Complete Joy,

Millie

The Relationship that Sustain in a Shifting Atmosphere!

1 05 2015

11087581_sIn our last post we opened a series on our ever shifting atmosphere and the need for maturity. These words are key, for they reveal the difference between walking in maturity and walking in our own strength.

If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love,

I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal.

If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing.

If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast,

but do not have love, I gain nothing.

1Co 13:1 – 3

Before there is obedience, before their is maturity leading naturally into authority, there must be an encounter with God our Father. It is through this relationship that we were created to grow and mature. Moses did not have a vibrant mature relationship with God in Egypt because the bible tells us  in Exodus chapter  3, as Moses tended this father-in-law’s flocks he encountered God.

Moses struggled with those who oppressed his people and still today we struggle with the oppression we face in our daily lives. It is through our relationship with God which brings us to a place of speaking in love, acting in love and giving in love which birthing life in others rather than release the pain in our hearts which can build up when someone does something we don’t agree with.

We would do well to reflect upon the life of Moses; for as he grew in his relationship with God, he learned to follow God and as he followed God, he saw God set his people free!

Blessings and Complete Joy,

Millie

Maturity in the Shifting Atmosphere

24 04 2015

11087581_sOver the late month as I seen the spiritual shift in the atmosphere while watching people who need to be spiritual mature, struggle. In this post we will begin a series on maturity, exploring how the shifts in the atmosphere affect people through the life of Moses.

From the moment of Moses conception the atmosphere on Earth began to change, as God’s plans of redemption began to come forth. The stage is set when baby Moses is set adrift on the Nile, in hopes to save his life. Years later another shift in the atmosphere took place, let’s look at it more closely.

Moses now a man & knowing the truth of his birth, he saw the injustice put upon his people and took measures into his own hands, Exodus 2. This choice revealed the shift the atmosphere as Moses struggled to agree with God’s plan and purpose for his life. In the spirit as the atmosphere changes we are always tempted to do things from our own strength, as Moses did. It take a greater level of maturity to be able to follow God’s leading and not strike out on our own.

So drastic was this change in the atmosphere that Moses was driven out into the desert. Man drove him out into the desert but it was God’s will for in going out from everyone and everything he knew, Moses began to build a relationship with his God, learning how to walk in obedience, maturity, and authority.

Join me for our next post shifting in obedience!

Blessings and Complete Joy,
