Righteousness, Key to the Kingdom of Heaven!

12 08 2016

10606784_sWe are in a series about the Kingdom of Heaven. Last time we looked at the poor in spirit and today we are looking further in Matthew 5 at the Kingdom of Heaven and righteousness.

Righteousness is a major key in functioning in the Kingdom of Heaven. As we look at righteousness and the Kingdom of Heaven through Matthew 5 there are three verses which we will focus on as a group.

They are:

Mat 5:10:  Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Mat_5:19:  Therefore anyone who sets aside one of the least of these commands and teaches others righteousnessaccordingly will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever practices and teaches these commands will be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

Mat_5:20:  For I tell you that unless your righteousness surpasses that of the Pharisees and the teachers of the law, you will certainly not enter the kingdom of heaven.

In these verses we see three aspects of righteousness that were key in the day’s of the apostles and they are key for us today. They are the persecution & righteousness, verse 10,  teaching and righteousness verse 19 and models of righteousness in our day, verse 20.

In the next three posts we will be camping on righteousness to understand the importance of this vital key in the Kingdom of Heaven.

I leave you with you with the Webster’s definition of righteousness: acting rightly, according to what is right.

Blessings and Complete Joy,

Millie

Poor in Spirit – Kingdom of Heaven – part 3

5 08 2016

10606784_sWe are in a series about the Kingdom of Heaven. Today we are looking at the poor in Spirit!

Jesus speaking in Matthew 5:3 “Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

At first glance these words blessed and poor seem to be polar opposites. They are use by our Messiah to awakens us to the truth we are all poor in spirit. We are not the spiritual giants we want to be, we are not God and yet the kingdom of heaven belongs to us.

Our Lord and Savior wanted us to know God isn’t looking for spiritual giants. He isn’t looking for everyone to be a Billy or Franklin Graham, or a Mother Teresa or a Cindy Jacobs. God is looking for the Susie the homemakers and the Joe the handyman’s who know they need a relationship with God and are willing to seek Everyday family cologeHim with all their hearts.

Our Messiah said to us, it is okay to mourn and it is okay to be meek. It is okay to hunger and thirst for righteousness and to be merciful. To have a pure heart and to be a peacemaker of great value in the Kingdom of Heaven.

In this day and age of the Hillary Clinton’s and the Donald Trump’s God is using these words to say to us, be who I created you to be for the Kingdom of Heaven belong to you!

Join me next time when we continue looking at the Kingdom of Heaven from Matthew 5 and the key of righteousness.

Blessings and Complete Joy,

Millie

Repent for the Kingdom of Heaven is Near!

29 07 2016

10606784_sWe are in a new series about the Kingdom of Heaven. Today we are looking at how repentance is key to the kingdom of heaven coming near!

Matthew writes: From that time on Jesus began to preach, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven has come near.”

Matthew 4:17

Let’s set the stage, in the beginning of chapter 4 Yeshua had been tempted by Satan in the desert, then upon his return he learned of John the Baptist jailing. As a man, think of all the emotions he was feeling. He did the best thing, and stepped away.

Yeshua could have chosen to be mad at man, mad at God or mad at Satan. He chose to do12490293_s none of the above. Yeshua knew he had to stay focused. We forget that, choosing instead to walk into anger and away from the kingdom of Heaven, as we break relationship with  our God. Remembering even righteous anger turns into sinful behavior.

I say all this because in these days people (including those who are believers) are going to do things which you have the right to be angry about, because they wronged you, or hurt someone you care about.

It is not if we will get angry, for even Yeshua revealed his anger toward the money changers in the temple. But when your anger turns into sinful behavior, repent and walk back into relationship with God for the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand!

Join me next time when we look at the Kingdom of Heaven from Matthew 5:3 and the poor in spirit

Kingdom of Heaven – part 1

8 07 2016

10606784_sWe are entering a new series about the Kingdom of Heaven. In doing my research I found that the term Kingdom of Heaven is found 10 times in Matthew’s gospel alone while the term Kingdom of God is found 68 times over 10 different NT books.

We are not here to debate if the Kingdom of God and the Kingdom of Heaven are different or the same, but to begin this series I need you to understand that we will be using both of these terms as they share a common root, Kingdom.

Readers of the Old Testament were familiar with the term God of Heaven (Daniel 2:44) so with the coming of Yeshua the term Kingdom of Heaven spoke deeply to the fulfillment of our soon coming king and savior of the world, whether you call him Jesus Christ or Yeshua!

Join me next time when we look at the Kingdom of Heaven in Matthew 4:17 and the need to repent!

Blessings and Complete Joy,

Millie

How Committed are You, part 4

17 06 2016

12755593_sWe are in the series, How committed are you? As we close this series, I realize that as readers you might be left with a question to ponder. What is revelational knowledge? So today we are going to talk about revelational knowledge before we begin our new series next time on Kingdom of Heaven where revelational knowledge is key to moving forward.

What is revelational knowledge? Using the Webster’s dictionary we find that revelation is the act of revealing or communicating divine truth. Others might consider it more of an enlightenment or astonish disclosure.

Much of the bible is the result of revelational knowledge. No human was with God during creation. God himself revealedOregon Coast to man, “His spirit hovered over the surface of the water” and His creation of light.

Revelational knowledge changes us, empowers us and causes us to strike out into paths we would never alone have walked.

It was spoken of Yeshua, in Heb 12:2  “For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God”. It was the revelational knowledge which allowed him to finish well and sit at the right hand of God.

As you ponder revelational knowledge, remember we are by God’s design being pressed, stretched and finally torn, so that the dross of the old season will disappear!

Blessings and Complete Joy,

Millie

How Committed Are You? Part 3

10 06 2016

12755593_sWe are in the series, How committed are you? In this new season, we all must assess how committed we are to our God and following His plans for our lives even when to follow means pain, struggle and loss. Today we are looking at the blindness of God’s servants.

Saul got up from the ground, but when he opened his eyes he could see nothing.

So they led him by the hand into Damascus.

For three days he was blind, and did not eat or drink anything.

Act 9:8 -9

I hope you are familiar with this story of Paul in the book of Acts and his conversion to Christ.  Each of us walk in blindness in an area until like Saul until we receive revelational knowledge from God. For Saul this revelational knowledge change himzagart701 - landscape from Saul to Paul and ignited his great knowledge of scripture, pointing the world both Jew and gentile to Yeshua and forever changing his ministry!

Like Saul (before the revelational knowledge) we can walk in spiritual blindness until the revelational knowledge comes. What are you waiting for? Has God touched your life and you know you have to wait? Allow another, called by God to speak into and minister to you as Paul did. Wait, Fast, Pray and seek God, pressing into all that He is calling you into so that when the revelational knowledge comes you will see clearly and begin your new work with boldness!

Join me next time!

Blessings and Complete Joy,

Millie

How Committed Are You? part 2

3 06 2016

12755593_sTwo months ago we begin a new blog series, How committed are you? In this new season, we all must assess how committed we are to our God and following His plans for our lives even when to follow means pain, struggle and loss. Today we are looking at the deafness of God’s servants.

Then he (Elijah) came there to a cave and lodged there; and behold, the word of the LORD came to him, and He said to him, “What are you doing here, Elijah?”                                  1Kings 19:9

Elijah had seen great things (1 Kings 18) and yet he had seen great horror and in fear fled (1 Kings 19). As we hear and see God move we wrestle with our own humanness, becoming overwhelmed as our capacity to stand is expanded. God did not discipline Elijah, rather He encouraged him as he sent an angel to minister to him.

In this season you and I  are going to hear things that are troublesome and will bring with it pain and loss. I walked through such a time two months ago, causing me to step away cavefrom writing as I worked to process the loss of my assistant who died suddenly.

I heard the Lord speaking about the loss that CJM would endure before it happened, so when it happened it wasn’t a shock. We have worked to move forward finding our way as God expands our capacity to move in the new season. Yet at the same time I struggled not wanting to hear such words of loss and pain; so I for a short time told the Lord I couldn’t listen anymore much as Elijah did in 1 Kings 10:3.

To make it through this time of expansion and increasing of our spiritual capacity it is critical to look at the past and allow the Lord to bring healing. As I did, I found myself dealing with the root of my pain, then gave myself permission to re-engage God and as I came into the throne room of God I received ministry from His angels.

God designed our humanness to be our greatest strength knowing that in this time of expansion and growth in the new season, we will have to confess that sometimes hearing God is more than we can handle!

Join me next time we will address blindness in this expanding season!

Blessings and Complete Joy,

Millie
