Is there Liberation from Frustration?

31 07 2010
While reading in Romans 8 and came upon these verses which really spoke to me.
The creation waits in eager expectation for the sons of God to be revealed. For the creation was subjected to frustration, not by its own choice, but by the will of the one who subjected it, in hope that the creation itself will be liberated from its bondage to decay and brought into the glorious freedom of the children of God.        Romans 8:19-21

How often the world tells us that we as Christians are the source of great frustration, but this perception is wrong for here we learn it was God who “created” frustration for a purpose. So you and I do not bring frustration, rather it is creation itself that becomes frustrated. Everyone has felt frustrated at one time or another. Men and women experience this when dealing with situations they can not fix or control. Frustration creates a hunger for liberation from frustration’s bondage which God intended to draw us to him.

What is the key to our liberation?  It is in becoming a child (or sons) of God. We learn in this passage, all of creation waits eagerly for the sons of God to be revealed, because it is the mature in Christ who has faced, and wrestled with life’s choices, discovering how to have liberty instead of bondage who can lead those lost in frustration out. This is what all of creation is waiting for.

As one who has wrestled with life’s frustrations for more than twenty years, I know liberation from frustration is a process, one well worth the time and effort. Even though I know I am not there yet, I am assured it happen soon!
