Christ our Redeemer

3 12 2011

Continuing our series Keeping Christ Real, this post we will be looking at Christ our redeemer.

“Because He Lives I can face tomorrow, because He lives all fear is gone,

Because I know He holds the future and life is worth living because He lives!”

These words from the song Because He Lives remind us of the truth that because Christ is our redeemer we can live life!

We think of the Christ child lying in the manger during Christmas, an infant unable to care of himself, but when we haven’t measured up or done something wrong we need to turn not to the Christ child but to Christ our redeemer.

Christ knows the depths of the human condition, because he began as an infant, then growing and maturing into a man, able to redeem you and I from all our sins. Our redeemer can handle the worst in life and so we can trust in him! He looks at our failures great and small and He reminds us that all our fear is gone; nothing goes with us to the grave for He took it.

Mom’s and dad’s across this land aren’t going to measure up to every toy desire their children have, if you are feeling bad because you can’t afford it, or you forgot that important item. Let Christ be your redeemer and allow your joy in the season to be complete!

No matter what is going on, let the risen Christ be your redeemer!
