God Loves Us Just the Way We Are!

10 03 2012

Last time we talked about the second winged back chair lesson, God wants a place in our lives and hearts and today we will move to the third lesson, God loves us just as we are.

If your remember the first post in this series when I talked about the condition of the chair, you will remember the arms were ripped and the chair showed its age, Yet this is the chair God provided and so each person on the team struggled to come to a place of peace with its condition.

I wanted to have a different chair, while another team member wanted to cover up the wear and tear by draping blanket, another wanted fabric. God accepts us just the way we are, and sometimes because we can’t accept our flaws we use them as an excuse not to stay in relationship with him.

Can you and I do what God has already done, accept our human condition and accept ourselves just the way we are? I have a really hard time with my human condition when I find myself not measuring up to what I believe God wants. On two occasions I realized this week I spoke half-truths. I wanted to beat myself up, when God wanted me to confess, repent and forgive myself as He had already done.

He accepts us flaws and all because he is God and so He can love us just the way we are, for he knows us, and accepts our human condition.

Join me next time when we talk about the fourth winged back chair lesson, God accepts and welcomes change.
