A Hunger for the Spirit!

14 08 2012

I pause as we begin this series to remember that long before the Christ asked the disciples to wait for the promised Holy Spirit these words of the Lord came forth in Zechariah.

Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the LORD.

Zechariah 4:6

God wanted men and women to realize, we are created to move in the spirit.

God is also telling us, it is not by our own might (our physical strength), nor by our own power (our mind, will and emotions), nor is it by our own spirit, rather we must rely on God and put our trust in him!

Moving in the spirit (of the Lord) or Holy Spirit was to be as natural as swimming, but if no one ever shows us, we are like the child who wades out into the water hunger-ing to swim, instead of chained to the shore!

May the words of scripture stir a hunger to wade out in the water and learn to move in the spirit!

Blessings and Complete Joy,

Millie
