Get Up and GO!

1 09 2012

In our last post we looked at the resolve to obey, today we see why we must resolve to obey before the spirit can lead the way!

I asked, “Lord, what do you want me to do?” Then he told me, “Get up and go to Damascus. When you get there, you will be told what to do.” Acts 22:10 (CEV)

Once you have the resolve to obey no matter the consequences the Lord is going to move you through His spirit in mighty ways. So when He does, get up and go! We aren’t suppose to know exactly what we are to do, so don’t wait time trying to figure God out! The resolve to obey means when the Lord said go, we get up and go to our Damascus as Paul did.

For years I ministered to very wounded people, traveling to partner with pastors and counselors and teaching them to lead others into healing and freedom. Often I went not knowing what I was going to do, other than to be used by the Lord in the situation.

In one instance I saw a woman with the help and support of her counselor take the steps to get out of the occult. I arrived not even knowing this woman was active in the occult. Had I known I could have gotten in the Lord’s way and He didn’t need that, so He knew the better thing was to keep me in the dark until I arrived.

The Lord knows what He intends to accomplish and we must be willing to go, much as a child goes with their parent, secure in who our Lord is and trusting Him to lead every step of the way!
