Deep, Deep Love of God

27 11 2013

21909694_sWe are in a series called what is Love Anyway? Today we are looking at the fifth distinct use of the word Love in the bible, egeb found in Ezekiel 33. To read all of this series on love scroll back to The Beatitudes of Love, 11/9/2013.

My people come to you, as they usually do, and sit before you to hear your words, but they do not put them into practice. Their mouths speak of love, but their hearts are greedy for unjust gain.

Eze 33:31

This is an interesting use of the word love since egeb means much love, very lovely. Speaking to the intensity of 12854175_slove which should run deep, impacting the body, soul and spirit of an individual and yet here clearly they do not. How often does the love of man fall short of what God intended for us to experience?

As we sit down to our Thanksgiving or our Hanukkah celebrations and reflect on what we are truly thankful for, let us all allow this deep love of God to draw us down into the depth of our souls to find those things we are truly thankful for so that we and those around us are changed and drawn nearer to our God!

Blessings and Complete Joy,

Millie
