How to MOVE in this new season, Part 5

25 03 2016

moveThis is the fifth post in our series How to MOVE in this new season.  Today we are unpacking the E for Equipped in our acrostic MOVE.

All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.

2Ti 3:16

To be equipped is to be furnished with something, others would use the word provision.

In 2 Timothy 3 we see God thoroughly equipping the servant of God with the gospel for every good work. In the Old Testament we see the people of God equipped for  physical battle. In every case when the people of God are thoroughly equipped, they are fully prepared for the task at hand.

In this season we need to be ready for God to furnish those things we need. Currently I have been asking for strategies in how to move forward for the Oregon Tabernacle Tent (OTT) as well as for Complete Joy Ministries.

I was praying for God’s strategy for how to re-brand OTT since the vinyl lettering I had putOTT logo on last year came coming off. In faith I removed the rest of the lettering and chose to wait for God to reveal what we should do. In the most unlikely place a man I knew gave me a name of a christian seamstress who can do the job and she is only about 3 miles from my office, so no need to take it down to Salem which is 50 miles away!

Watching for how God will equip the work He has called you do is the final key to our movement in this and any season. When you are equipped to do the work of service movement will be easier and you will find the job goes much more smoothly than if you walk forward ahead of God without His equipping!

Don’t worry or move into anxiousness as you wait to be equipped, because tomorrow God may equip you and call you to move!

Blessings and Complete Joy,

Millie

Standing Firm in Transition

6 03 2015

In this 20150305_115325season, are you struggling to stand as things are whirling around you and people who have been walking at your side suddenly have other things pulling them away? We must stand firm as everyone is in transition.

Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.

1Co 15:58

It is easy to look at our suite and see CJM is in transition; from scriptures waiting to be put on the wall, to the need for a small end table in the CJM office. God knows our needs and we must stand firm and let nothing side track us from giving ourselves fully to the work of the Lord!

Recently I struggled to do just that, as I labored to put the Lord’s Prayer on the textured wall of the prayer room. DiligentlyMatthew scripture for three hours lifting masking tape from one word at a time. At one point I watched as the first two letters of the word temptation lifted again and again off the wall. They will forever be just a little bit off, reminding us temptation is there to throw us off if we aren’t careful?

I stayed with it, going up and down the ladder as I processed not only the job before me but the many changes since moving to our new location. When I finally finished I was praising God! We must take this scripture in 1 Corinthians to heart and remember our labor in the Lord is not in vain.

Blessings and Complete Joy,

Millie

An Expanded Revelation!

13 04 2013

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERALast time we began talking about the new prayer shawl the Lord inspired me to design out of my own necessity. Praying about the new design this shawl, had to be prophetically inspired, it needed to be light material view-able from both sides, and finally it needed to become a head covering easily.

Before I could go on, I had to let go of the old design. So many times the reason we struggle to move forward is that we haven’t taken the time to let go of the past, so I had a sale on my old prayer shawls and give any remaining shawls to some friends who were going to the Congo to share when they talk on prayer. It was my way of letting and honoring the old season.

After several days of further prayer I pulled out several bolts of fabric, selected one I had never used and realized the Lord had set them aside forPrayer Shawl edge this new season! I had five yards of fabric to work with, so the next task was to determine the dimensions. After that task was done, it was on how to finish the edge.

Over the last several months I had begun creating fire flags with melted edges and decided to finish this new prayer shawl design like the fire flags when possible, melting the edges as it is passed by a flame.

I already knew, the closer we allow ourselves to get to our Lord the more He will impact and form us. It is amazing, every edge is different just as is every person in God’s creation is. It was then that the prophetic began to flow as I melted the edges of the cloth as I learned a new principle, there is chaff in every life and as we encounter the Lord, he removes it revealing more of himself!  Our imperfections reveal the Lord, rather than defining us! What an amazing revelations, all from this new prayer shawl design. After melting the edges, I laid the material aside.

This wasn’t a new revelations, rather an expansion of what I already new, little did I know there was so much more to come. I hope you join me next time!

Blessings and Complete Joy,

Millie

David’s Inheritance

17 07 2012

As we look at the value David put on God through Psalm 16 we come to verses 3 – 5 where David contrasts the lives of other saints who have fallen way to serve other gods with his own choice to follow the Lord.

Psa 16:3  But to the saints that are in the earth, and to the excellent, in whom is all my delight.

Psa 16:4  Their sorrows shall be multiplied that hasten after another god: their drink offerings of blood will I not offer, nor take up their names into my lips.

Psa 16:5  The LORD is the portion of mine inheritance and of my cup: thou maintainest my lot.

David remembered and honored his relationship with God in verse five, empowering him to stand firm.

How hard it is when our friends or family members choose to run after other gods. In David’s day, the other god was Baal today the other god’s our friends and family are turning to have other more familiar names, new age or money to name just a few.

David reminded himself the Lord is his inheritance, his cup, and his lot. David was all in, without reservation choosing the Lord. As we face these days of turmoil we must do the same empowering ourselves to stand firm in every situation.

If you go to the Equip page of this blog and scroll down to the bottom, just above the comments, you will find a wonderful daily prayer (highlighted in purple) to help you choose the Lord each and every day!

Blessings and Complete Joy,

Millie

Struggling with Change

27 03 2012

Usually I welcome change but in the last month I have found myself overwhelmed by so much change I feel like change is over taking my life. We have entered into a new season in 2012 and with it come dramatic change.

When changes are small many of us are comfortable, like choosing a different color from a favorite box of 24 crayons. But change in 2012 involves a whole new box of 64 crayons. When it come to major change I don’t know many people who are really comfortable with it.

I have found myself grieving as we sent our living room furniture to Salvation Army and then moved the futon into the living room from my office, all to make more room for Complete Joy Ministries! But that wasn’t where things ended, all of my modular office furniture went into my husband’s office and received his credenza in return. I lost so much and yet now there is room to put up a 30×60 folding table giving me an amazing flat space to work as well as open area to put another smaller table to permanently house a sewing machine!

These were all hard but amazing changes. I have my new computer and with it has come a whole office. Change is tough, and I have spent the last 3 days moving boxes, furniture so I can use my new office. Change is exciting and very emotional taxing.

Next time we will talk about how to handle change so we stay on God’s page!

Blessings and Complete Joy,

Millie

Need Wisdom, Just Ask!

11 02 2012

How many of us lack wisdom? The simple answer is we all do. Today we are doing to look at why asking God is not only the right thing, but it comes without him finding fault.

“If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God,

who gives generously to all without finding fault,

and it will be given to him.” James 1:5

Here in James we are told if we lack wisdom we should ask God. Most Christians stop there and decide to go off on their own because they are afraid God won’t answer.

Many America learned as they grew up, that asking the wrong question was a bad, whether it was at home or while going to school, so now as adults they believe God will respond the same way i.e. He won’t answer and might even find their question offensive.

Here in James we are told, we should ask, and our God who gives generously, will help us without finding fault!

That simple statement in James, “without finding fault”, is a life changing statement. The reason our heavenly Father does not find fault is: we are his children who he loves unconditionally.  Our heavenly Father is a good father who desires to nurture and support us without finding fault.

So be courageous and ask!

Join me next time as we talk about believing God will answer.

Blessings and Complete Joy,

Millie

God’s plan – Giving

2 04 2011

I am on the Portland Good Friday Breakfast committee and after I left one meeting I found myself asking this question, do we give 10% of the tables for the Lord’s use? Then I asked the more important question, do I give 10% of the prayer shawls, flags and jewelry I make for the Lord’s use? I give 10% of my money, but God was calling me to another level of giving.

Soon after I was asked by my church  to do a teaching on intercession and as I prepared I felt the stirring of the Lord to take the box of mini prayer shawls to give to all who attended. I was so excited for I knew where to give my 10%.

As I prepared for the evening, the Lord made it very clear how important it was for one of the women at my church to be there, I didn’t even know her name, but it didn’t stop me from praying that nothing would stop her from attending the night I spoke.

The night came for the teaching and I was sad as I watched people gather and she wasn’t there. But just as worship ended, she walked in and so with assurance I began teaching, knowing the plans of the Lord would be accomplished.

I watched with anticipation as each person chose their prayer shawl, paying special attention to this woman and after we ended I shared with her how I knew the Lord had something very special for her that night. She then shared  how God used the truths of this teaching to confirm what he had been saying to her earlier.

As I left I was so excited for I knew both God and man had shown up, little did I know the blessing that was waiting me because of this step out in faith to give!

Join me next time for the rest of the story.

Blessings and Complete Joy,

Mildred
