Transition: Believe it or NOT part 2 – Joseph

29 06 2017

Transition

In part one of our series on transition we looked at the Mary the mother of Jesus. Today we will be looking at the transition of Joseph found in Matthew 1:18 – 25 as he heard the news of becoming the father of Jesus.

Setting the scene, Joseph like many men was a black and white thinker. God understands men who are all about action, they want the bottom line and so Joseph’s transition begins with the bottom line, Mary is pregnant.

Joseph being a righteous man and knowing Mary was with child through the Holy Spirit, engaged his black and white thinking and was going to divorce her quietly.

Until he too was visited by an angel, telling him “Joseph son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife…” As the angel explained what was going on and the why’s of this miraculous pregnancy Joseph came into agreement with the will of God.

Praise God for the way men think, for it gave Joseph the ability to wake up from the dream and stop reacting, choosing instead to obey God.  Scripture records Joseph woke from the dream and took Mary as his wife, having no union with her until after the birth of their son who he named Jesus as the angel had instructed him.

As you walk through transition, remember even if you are a black and white thinker, God will bring you through, just seek him!

Join me next time for part three of transition, the disciples.

Blessings & Complete Joy!

Millie

How Committed Are You? Part 3

10 06 2016

12755593_sWe are in the series, How committed are you? In this new season, we all must assess how committed we are to our God and following His plans for our lives even when to follow means pain, struggle and loss. Today we are looking at the blindness of God’s servants.

Saul got up from the ground, but when he opened his eyes he could see nothing.

So they led him by the hand into Damascus.

For three days he was blind, and did not eat or drink anything.

Act 9:8 -9

I hope you are familiar with this story of Paul in the book of Acts and his conversion to Christ.  Each of us walk in blindness in an area until like Saul until we receive revelational knowledge from God. For Saul this revelational knowledge change himzagart701 - landscape from Saul to Paul and ignited his great knowledge of scripture, pointing the world both Jew and gentile to Yeshua and forever changing his ministry!

Like Saul (before the revelational knowledge) we can walk in spiritual blindness until the revelational knowledge comes. What are you waiting for? Has God touched your life and you know you have to wait? Allow another, called by God to speak into and minister to you as Paul did. Wait, Fast, Pray and seek God, pressing into all that He is calling you into so that when the revelational knowledge comes you will see clearly and begin your new work with boldness!

Join me next time!

Blessings and Complete Joy,

Millie

How Committed Are You? part 2

3 06 2016

12755593_sTwo months ago we begin a new blog series, How committed are you? In this new season, we all must assess how committed we are to our God and following His plans for our lives even when to follow means pain, struggle and loss. Today we are looking at the deafness of God’s servants.

Then he (Elijah) came there to a cave and lodged there; and behold, the word of the LORD came to him, and He said to him, “What are you doing here, Elijah?”                                  1Kings 19:9

Elijah had seen great things (1 Kings 18) and yet he had seen great horror and in fear fled (1 Kings 19). As we hear and see God move we wrestle with our own humanness, becoming overwhelmed as our capacity to stand is expanded. God did not discipline Elijah, rather He encouraged him as he sent an angel to minister to him.

In this season you and I  are going to hear things that are troublesome and will bring with it pain and loss. I walked through such a time two months ago, causing me to step away cavefrom writing as I worked to process the loss of my assistant who died suddenly.

I heard the Lord speaking about the loss that CJM would endure before it happened, so when it happened it wasn’t a shock. We have worked to move forward finding our way as God expands our capacity to move in the new season. Yet at the same time I struggled not wanting to hear such words of loss and pain; so I for a short time told the Lord I couldn’t listen anymore much as Elijah did in 1 Kings 10:3.

To make it through this time of expansion and increasing of our spiritual capacity it is critical to look at the past and allow the Lord to bring healing. As I did, I found myself dealing with the root of my pain, then gave myself permission to re-engage God and as I came into the throne room of God I received ministry from His angels.

God designed our humanness to be our greatest strength knowing that in this time of expansion and growth in the new season, we will have to confess that sometimes hearing God is more than we can handle!

Join me next time we will address blindness in this expanding season!

Blessings and Complete Joy,

Millie

How Committed are You?

1 04 2016

12755593_sToday we begin a new blog series, How committed are you? In this new season, we all must assess how committed we are to our God and following His plans for our lives.

Who is blind but my servant, and deaf like the messenger I send? Who is blind like the one in covenant with me, blind like the servant of the LORD?  You have seen many things, but you pay no attention; your ears are open, but you do not listen.”

Isa 42:19 – 20

In this passage the Lord is speaking to His people Israel who were supposed to be in a committed relationship with Him and willing to follow His plans in their lives, but clearly if you read on, they weren’t as committed to Him and He was to them.

Like Israel, you and I can take our relationship with the Lord and His plans us for granted. We can read our bible, go to church and yes even pray as if they were all part of a grand Christian check list, instead of that place where God releases His plans and strategies.  This is a new day and a new season. Do you hear the Lord calling you into a greater level of relationship? Are you willing to be fed and equipped with new manna you will need to enter new territories where you have never been before?

Join me next time as we explore how we as His servants can become deaf.

Blessings and Complete Joy,

Millie

How to MOVE in this new season, Part 5

25 03 2016

moveThis is the fifth post in our series How to MOVE in this new season.  Today we are unpacking the E for Equipped in our acrostic MOVE.

All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.

2Ti 3:16

To be equipped is to be furnished with something, others would use the word provision.

In 2 Timothy 3 we see God thoroughly equipping the servant of God with the gospel for every good work. In the Old Testament we see the people of God equipped for  physical battle. In every case when the people of God are thoroughly equipped, they are fully prepared for the task at hand.

In this season we need to be ready for God to furnish those things we need. Currently I have been asking for strategies in how to move forward for the Oregon Tabernacle Tent (OTT) as well as for Complete Joy Ministries.

I was praying for God’s strategy for how to re-brand OTT since the vinyl lettering I had putOTT logo on last year came coming off. In faith I removed the rest of the lettering and chose to wait for God to reveal what we should do. In the most unlikely place a man I knew gave me a name of a christian seamstress who can do the job and she is only about 3 miles from my office, so no need to take it down to Salem which is 50 miles away!

Watching for how God will equip the work He has called you do is the final key to our movement in this and any season. When you are equipped to do the work of service movement will be easier and you will find the job goes much more smoothly than if you walk forward ahead of God without His equipping!

Don’t worry or move into anxiousness as you wait to be equipped, because tomorrow God may equip you and call you to move!

Blessings and Complete Joy,

Millie

Birthing Transition

20 10 2012

If you have ever expected a child, transition is everywhere. Today we are looking at the elements of a birthing transition through the life of Abram, who became the father of the nation of Israel.

“The LORD said to Abram: Leave your country, your family, and your relatives and go to the land that I will show you.

I will bless you and make your descendants into a great nation. You will become famous and be a blessing to others.

I will bless anyone who blesses you, but I will put a curse on anyone who puts a curse on you. Everyone on earth will be blessed because of you.”

Gen 12:1-3

Abram at the age of 135 was asked by the Lord to leave his country, his family, his relatives and go to the land the Lord was going to show him. Note Abram was not asked to break relationship with his wife, but rather the Lord expected him to take his barren wife with him and the break with his family was gentle for the Lord allowed his nephew Lot to accompany them.

Obedience to the Lord is the first step in a birthing transition. With this type of transition expect a separation for it allows room for the new life to grow.  The promises of the Lord have a purpose as well, for they serve to encourage you as you walk through this time of  transition. Patience is also critical for just as with the gestation of a human baby, a birthing transitions takes time and in the case of the nation of Israel, it took several generations.

Next time we will look at a rare but important transition, a covenant transition.

Blessings and Complete Joy,

Millie

Children of God Move by the Spirit!

22 09 2012

In today’s post we continue this series on Moving in the Spirit as we look once again in Romans and the words of Paul.

“Only those people who are led by God’s Spirit are his children.

God’s Spirit doesn’t make us slaves who are afraid of him.

Instead, we become his children and call him our Father.”

 Rom 8:14 – 15

Even God-fearing Christians are afraid of or can’t believe in the move of the Holy Spirit. The world longs for the spirit’s move even sensing that he should be moving, but they don’t know their Heaven Father or his son, Jesus. When they are introduced to the move of another spirit they press in hoping that it will fill the longing for freedom they have in their soul.

When we do not press into the move of the Holy Spirit, we can be tricked into feeling like we are not children of God or as if we are slaves of God, for we are ruled by the commandments of God (his rules) only and not the liberty of Christ (his spirit) which breaks our human bondage.  The great benefit of moving in the Holy Spirit is that he leads us into the freedom of a deeper, more fulfilling relationship with our Heavenly Father.

“Press in my children”, the Lord would say to you this day. “Press into me and know my word, that when my spirit stirs within you, you will be able to partner with me with all your body, all your soul and all your spirit!”

Blessings and Complete Joy,

Millie
