How to MOVE in this new season, Part 5

25 03 2016

moveThis is the fifth post in our series How to MOVE in this new season.  Today we are unpacking the E for Equipped in our acrostic MOVE.

All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.

2Ti 3:16

To be equipped is to be furnished with something, others would use the word provision.

In 2 Timothy 3 we see God thoroughly equipping the servant of God with the gospel for every good work. In the Old Testament we see the people of God equipped for  physical battle. In every case when the people of God are thoroughly equipped, they are fully prepared for the task at hand.

In this season we need to be ready for God to furnish those things we need. Currently I have been asking for strategies in how to move forward for the Oregon Tabernacle Tent (OTT) as well as for Complete Joy Ministries.

I was praying for God’s strategy for how to re-brand OTT since the vinyl lettering I had putOTT logo on last year came coming off. In faith I removed the rest of the lettering and chose to wait for God to reveal what we should do. In the most unlikely place a man I knew gave me a name of a christian seamstress who can do the job and she is only about 3 miles from my office, so no need to take it down to Salem which is 50 miles away!

Watching for how God will equip the work He has called you do is the final key to our movement in this and any season. When you are equipped to do the work of service movement will be easier and you will find the job goes much more smoothly than if you walk forward ahead of God without His equipping!

Don’t worry or move into anxiousness as you wait to be equipped, because tomorrow God may equip you and call you to move!

Blessings and Complete Joy,

Millie

You are an Overcomer!

2 10 2012

While praying on the radio, affirming we are all overcomers, I was reminded of this verse in Revelations:

“And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.” Rev 12:11 (KJV)

The gift of Christ’s blood gave you the ability to overcome, but to become someone who overcomes you must act by opening your mouth. What are the truths the Lord has stored up in you? What have you overcome?

We don’t overcome a fear until we face it. We have to express the truth for then the truth sets us free. I think of all the residual anger and unforgiveness I had toward my husband and Portland before I prayed the prayer I shared last time, and now I am free. I had to choose and take action to confess, repent and forgive first to myself and God and then to my husband. I have such joy because I am walking out the words of my testimony!

Don’t be afraid of the truth that God has stirring within you. Allow yourself to overcome by the blood of the Lamb and the word of your testimony. You are more than your faults and the trauma you have endured, you are a new man, for you have overcome!

Blessings and Complete Joy,

Millie

Given so Receive it!

25 09 2012

As we close this series, I remind you, the Holy Spirit has been given, so receive him fully and move in liberty!

“But God has given us his Spirit. That’s why we don’t think the same way that the people of this world think. That’s also why we can recognize the blessings that God has given us.” 1Co 2:12

Paul reminds us as he speaks to the Corinthians “God gave us his Spirit”. Think on that for a moment, don’t just glance over it and move on.  God gave you, HIS SPIRIT.

Too often I see people hoping and praying for something they already have, the Holy Spirit. The gift of the Holy Spirit is like the bank card that comes with your newly opened bank account, giving you untold power and authority once you know how it works.

The move of the Holy Spirit is not unlike a healthy bank account, which has funds fluidly moving in an out. There will times when we will move mightily and there will be times when we are at rest, both fueled by the Lord. During those times of rest I remind myself this is natural and an important time of storing up for the next move of his Spirit.

Dear ones I hear the Lord say, “Enjoy the journey as the spirit moves, for there are amazing blessing awaiting you!”

Blessings and Complete Joy,

Millie

Children of God Move by the Spirit!

22 09 2012

In today’s post we continue this series on Moving in the Spirit as we look once again in Romans and the words of Paul.

“Only those people who are led by God’s Spirit are his children.

God’s Spirit doesn’t make us slaves who are afraid of him.

Instead, we become his children and call him our Father.”

 Rom 8:14 – 15

Even God-fearing Christians are afraid of or can’t believe in the move of the Holy Spirit. The world longs for the spirit’s move even sensing that he should be moving, but they don’t know their Heaven Father or his son, Jesus. When they are introduced to the move of another spirit they press in hoping that it will fill the longing for freedom they have in their soul.

When we do not press into the move of the Holy Spirit, we can be tricked into feeling like we are not children of God or as if we are slaves of God, for we are ruled by the commandments of God (his rules) only and not the liberty of Christ (his spirit) which breaks our human bondage.  The great benefit of moving in the Holy Spirit is that he leads us into the freedom of a deeper, more fulfilling relationship with our Heavenly Father.

“Press in my children”, the Lord would say to you this day. “Press into me and know my word, that when my spirit stirs within you, you will be able to partner with me with all your body, all your soul and all your spirit!”

Blessings and Complete Joy,

Millie

Life and Peace in the Spirit

18 09 2012

As we continue our series Moving in the Spirit, the book of Romans reveals a key to moving in the spirit as well as giving us insight into why some people though they desire to, aren’t.

“People who are ruled by their desires think only of themselves. Everyone who is ruled by the Holy Spirit thinks about spiritual things. If our minds are ruled by our desires, we will die. But if our minds are ruled by the Spirit, we will have life and peace.”

Rom 8:5-6

I wonder what God thinks of us when we act as if moving in the Holy Spirit is like a light switch we can turn on and off.  When we act in this manner we are deceiving ourselves. We can not be ruled by two masters, for we will love the one and hate the other, scripture reminds us.

When our lives are ruled by the flesh we are wrong to believe the Holy Spirit will still move mightily through us. That is not to say a Christian ruled by the flesh will not experience some move of the Holy Spirit because all Christians do experience the moving of the Holy Spirit. Our desires don’t delete the move of the Holy Spirit, rather our desires hinders it, much like a virus affecting the hard drive of a computer.

As we choose to be ruled by the Spirit, we then move in the spirit more freely because the fight to rule the mind is finished bringing life (in the spirit) and peace.

Blessings and Complete Joy,

Millie

Reveals and Searches for the Greater Good

15 09 2012

Today in our series Moving in the Spirit, we transition from Romans and into I Corinthians to see the Holy Spirit revealing all things including the mind of God for the greater good.

God’s Spirit has shown you everything. His Spirit finds out everything, even what is deep in the mind of God. 1Co 2:10 (CEV)

Paul here is speaking to the Corinthians concerning what the Lord himself is willing to reveal. It is the Holy Spirit who makes the deep things known, revealing the heart of both man and God.

Recently I was asked to come and pray for a woman’s sick son, as I drove to her home the Holy Spirit revealed her fear about her son’s illness. After spending time praying for her son, the spirit lead me to gently ask about her fear and as she acknowledged the truth, the fear was released and she was free to care of her son.

Knowing that the Holy Spirit knows us inside and out can be intimidating, but we must walk into the maturity of Christ, accepting this truth and trusting he will use this information as God does, for the greater good!

Blessings and Complete Joy,

Millie

HE Intercedes for US!

8 09 2012

As we continue our series Moving in the Spirit we leave the books of Acts and turn to the eighth chapter of the book of Romans and a familiar verse which comforts us when we don’t know how to pray.

“In certain ways we are weak, but the Spirit is here to help us. For example, when we don’t know what to pray for, the Spirit prays for us in ways that cannot be put into words.  All of our thoughts are known to God. He can understand what is in the mind of the Spirit, as the Spirit prays for God’s people.” (Romans 8:26-27 CEV)

Even while we are moving in the spirit, moments will arise when we don’t know what to do or what to say. We will pray and fast until we finally realize some problems are bigger than humanity can handle. Yet as we move in the spirit when those bigger than moments happen causing others to become stressed we can have peace and rest for the spirit intercedes for us. The spirit of God moves mountains when we can’t.

Maria’s son was desperate for a job, they prayed, they fasted leaving the bigger than problem to the bigger than God and within days their bigger than God brought her son a job!

The fact that Christ even now is interceding for us allows us to do greater things than even he himself did. There is so much power in heaven because of Christ and here on earth because of the spirit. We don’t need to worry or be anxious because the spirit intercedes for God’s people!

Blessings and Complete Joy,

Millie
