How to MOVE in this new season, Part 5

25 03 2016

moveThis is the fifth post in our series How to MOVE in this new season.  Today we are unpacking the E for Equipped in our acrostic MOVE.

All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.

2Ti 3:16

To be equipped is to be furnished with something, others would use the word provision.

In 2 Timothy 3 we see God thoroughly equipping the servant of God with the gospel for every good work. In the Old Testament we see the people of God equipped for  physical battle. In every case when the people of God are thoroughly equipped, they are fully prepared for the task at hand.

In this season we need to be ready for God to furnish those things we need. Currently I have been asking for strategies in how to move forward for the Oregon Tabernacle Tent (OTT) as well as for Complete Joy Ministries.

I was praying for God’s strategy for how to re-brand OTT since the vinyl lettering I had putOTT logo on last year came coming off. In faith I removed the rest of the lettering and chose to wait for God to reveal what we should do. In the most unlikely place a man I knew gave me a name of a christian seamstress who can do the job and she is only about 3 miles from my office, so no need to take it down to Salem which is 50 miles away!

Watching for how God will equip the work He has called you do is the final key to our movement in this and any season. When you are equipped to do the work of service movement will be easier and you will find the job goes much more smoothly than if you walk forward ahead of God without His equipping!

Don’t worry or move into anxiousness as you wait to be equipped, because tomorrow God may equip you and call you to move!

Blessings and Complete Joy,

Millie

How to MOVE in the new season, part 3

11 03 2016

moveThis is the third post in our series How to MOVE in this new season.  Today we are unpacking the O for obedient in our acrostic MOVE.

We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.

2Co 10:5

Obedient is the choice we make whether to submit to control or guidance.

The student makes the choice when he/she walks into a classroom whether to submit to their teacher control and guidance, just as a child chooses to respond obediently to the correction/control of a loving parent.

Obedience is the ultimate choice. As a nation we have chosen to remove the 10 commandments from our public spaces. We set ourselves, our wants, our hopes and our desires against the knowledge of God and abandoning God as we refuse tofather daughter take our thought life captive, resulting in lives which are pulled to and fro by every passing wind.

Obedience to Christ in this season will bring us to a higher level of functionality, as we  embrace our Lord who is a good God, rather than revolting against the vindictive God once preached from pulpits across our nation and around the world in hopes to control people to walk obediently with their maker.

To be obedient to Yeshua (Christ) is a conscious choice, one I embrace with both hands, my whole heart and every brain cell I have! I know as I take every thought captive God will sift my thought life, purifying my motives so I can function to a higher level in this season!

Join me next time when unpack the next key to moving in the new season, V for victory.

Blessings and Complete Joy,

Millie

Standing Firm in Transition

6 03 2015

In this 20150305_115325season, are you struggling to stand as things are whirling around you and people who have been walking at your side suddenly have other things pulling them away? We must stand firm as everyone is in transition.

Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.

1Co 15:58

It is easy to look at our suite and see CJM is in transition; from scriptures waiting to be put on the wall, to the need for a small end table in the CJM office. God knows our needs and we must stand firm and let nothing side track us from giving ourselves fully to the work of the Lord!

Recently I struggled to do just that, as I labored to put the Lord’s Prayer on the textured wall of the prayer room. DiligentlyMatthew scripture for three hours lifting masking tape from one word at a time. At one point I watched as the first two letters of the word temptation lifted again and again off the wall. They will forever be just a little bit off, reminding us temptation is there to throw us off if we aren’t careful?

I stayed with it, going up and down the ladder as I processed not only the job before me but the many changes since moving to our new location. When I finally finished I was praising God! We must take this scripture in 1 Corinthians to heart and remember our labor in the Lord is not in vain.

Blessings and Complete Joy,

Millie

You are an Overcomer!

2 10 2012

While praying on the radio, affirming we are all overcomers, I was reminded of this verse in Revelations:

“And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.” Rev 12:11 (KJV)

The gift of Christ’s blood gave you the ability to overcome, but to become someone who overcomes you must act by opening your mouth. What are the truths the Lord has stored up in you? What have you overcome?

We don’t overcome a fear until we face it. We have to express the truth for then the truth sets us free. I think of all the residual anger and unforgiveness I had toward my husband and Portland before I prayed the prayer I shared last time, and now I am free. I had to choose and take action to confess, repent and forgive first to myself and God and then to my husband. I have such joy because I am walking out the words of my testimony!

Don’t be afraid of the truth that God has stirring within you. Allow yourself to overcome by the blood of the Lamb and the word of your testimony. You are more than your faults and the trauma you have endured, you are a new man, for you have overcome!

Blessings and Complete Joy,

Millie

Considerate Wisdom

5 05 2012

Last time we looked at peace-loving heavenly wisdom and today we will be looking at considerate wisdom.

“But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere. Peacemakers who sow in peace raise a harvest of righteousness.” James 3:17-18

Considerate by definition is thoughtful of the rights and feelings of others. Only as we rest in the heart of God and his provision can we truly be considerate of someone else’s rights and feelings. We have to realize that when others are walking through tough things in their lives it isn’t our place to make judgments about what they should or shouldn’t do.

We must allow God the room to speak into the lives of others. We must keep quiet and considerate of other people and resist becoming like Job’s friends, who instead of bringing comfort, inflicted more pain and suffering.

My friend is walking through a really tough place as she faces the truth about decisions she made in her life. There is no right answer, no wrong answer. There is only to stand beside her and intercede for her to hear from the Lord. We both know that, yet both of our hearts are broken right now. Standing in silence is the right thing to do, and in this way, I am being considerate of her rights and feelings.

What happens is between she and the Lord, and realize she is in the best hands which allows me to exercise considerate wisdom, standing silent as I am considerate of her right and feelings.

Blessings and Complete Joy,

Millie

Struggle to Believe

20 03 2012

I have been waiting for a new computer and in the last week I finally got it. Before getting my new PC a good friend and supporter of Complete Joy Ministries gave me a 17 inch flat screen monitor. It was smaller than I wanted but I was so thankful for she saved me $150 dollars so I deposited the monitor in my office closet as a reminder one day the new PC would come.

A week ago we got the new PC and when I picked up the monitor it seemed bigger but I didn’t think anything of it. For a week the computer and monitor sat in my husband’s office as he installed programs and got the PC ready for me to use.

The computer was now ready and as I moved the box, monitor and keyboard into my office. looking at it again I was sure the monitor was larger and thought only God could have done this? Struggling with this possible miracle I asked my husband, what was the monitor size, he said it was the size I wanted, 21 inches. Still not sure if the monitor was larger, I ask my friend to come look at the monitor and she remarked it is larger and then told me she knew she purchased a 17 inch monitor for it was all she could afford. The next day still struggling, I measured the monitor and it was still 21 inches.

My struggle wasn’t if God could do this, but rather, why would he do this because I was ok with the 17 inch monitor. Now instead of resting and enjoying my new PC I struggled to believe he really did enlarge the monitor by 4 inches? It seems so meaningless, yet each day I am faced with the truth of a miraculous God who will not only grow a man’s leg 4 inches but also a computer monitor. A God who hears and knows our hearts desires and he will move in miraculous ways when we lease expect it, just because he loves us!

God I thank you for the gift of a larger monitor, may it and the PC be used to your glory!

Blessings and Complete Joy,

Millie

Keys to Believing!

17 03 2012

Recently I met my prayer partner, Rebecca, for lunch. Usually we pray on the phone together once a week, but today we wanted to pray in person because our needs were more pressing. She was sitting in her car when I arrived, so we both go out of our cars to go into the restaurant. After she closed the car door, suddenly she began checking her pockets and hunting in her purse for she realized she had locked her keys in the car. I told her not to worry that I would take her home as she had done for me in the past and we went on and had a nice lunch.

As we finished eating we took time to pray together, Rebecca prayed for me and then I prayed for her, asking the Lord to do for my friend what He had on two occasions done for me, to put her keys which had been locked in the car into her pocket.

As we finished praying I share with Rebecca why I asked God to put her keys back in her pocket and how twice over the last three years after locking my keys in the trunk I asked God to put them in my pocket and he did. Both times in front of witnesses! So with anticipation she felt in the same pockets she had checked before we entered the restaurant and they were there!

James 1:6 tells; when we ask God we must believe and not doubt, because he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind.  God put those keys back in my friend’s pocket because she believed!

God created the universe so moving a set of keys was no big deal, except to us!

Blessings and Complete Joy,

Millie
