Repent for the Kingdom of Heaven is Near!

29 07 2016

10606784_sWe are in a new series about the Kingdom of Heaven. Today we are looking at how repentance is key to the kingdom of heaven coming near!

Matthew writes: From that time on Jesus began to preach, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven has come near.”

Matthew 4:17

Let’s set the stage, in the beginning of chapter 4 Yeshua had been tempted by Satan in the desert, then upon his return he learned of John the Baptist jailing. As a man, think of all the emotions he was feeling. He did the best thing, and stepped away.

Yeshua could have chosen to be mad at man, mad at God or mad at Satan. He chose to do12490293_s none of the above. Yeshua knew he had to stay focused. We forget that, choosing instead to walk into anger and away from the kingdom of Heaven, as we break relationship with  our God. Remembering even righteous anger turns into sinful behavior.

I say all this because in these days people (including those who are believers) are going to do things which you have the right to be angry about, because they wronged you, or hurt someone you care about.

It is not if we will get angry, for even Yeshua revealed his anger toward the money changers in the temple. But when your anger turns into sinful behavior, repent and walk back into relationship with God for the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand!

Join me next time when we look at the Kingdom of Heaven from Matthew 5:3 and the poor in spirit

Millie

How to MOVE in the new season, part 3

11 03 2016

moveThis is the third post in our series How to MOVE in this new season.  Today we are unpacking the O for obedient in our acrostic MOVE.

We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.

2Co 10:5

Obedient is the choice we make whether to submit to control or guidance.

The student makes the choice when he/she walks into a classroom whether to submit to their teacher control and guidance, just as a child chooses to respond obediently to the correction/control of a loving parent.

Obedience is the ultimate choice. As a nation we have chosen to remove the 10 commandments from our public spaces. We set ourselves, our wants, our hopes and our desires against the knowledge of God and abandoning God as we refuse tofather daughter take our thought life captive, resulting in lives which are pulled to and fro by every passing wind.

Obedience to Christ in this season will bring us to a higher level of functionality, as we  embrace our Lord who is a good God, rather than revolting against the vindictive God once preached from pulpits across our nation and around the world in hopes to control people to walk obediently with their maker.

To be obedient to Yeshua (Christ) is a conscious choice, one I embrace with both hands, my whole heart and every brain cell I have! I know as I take every thought captive God will sift my thought life, purifying my motives so I can function to a higher level in this season!

Join me next time when unpack the next key to moving in the new season, V for victory.

Blessings and Complete Joy,

Millie

Shining Through the Process

8 01 2016

2016 calendarLast time we explored a prophetic word for 2016 and the truth that God intends to work in and through each of us in 2016, so allow God’s light to shine! Today we will begin exploring this mystery of letting your light shine.

“For God, who said, ‘Let light shine out of darkness,’ made his light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of God’s glory displayed in the face of Christ.  But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us.  We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair;  persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed.”

2Co 4:6 -9

The body of Yeshua is facing some huge challenges in 2016. For CJM the first of these challenges is in painting the 20×20Ott in Salem OTT (Oregon Tabernacle Tent) foundation which is made up of over a dozen T-11 plywood and 2×4 pieces that come together like a giant jigsaw puzzle, so we are going to paint a map on the foundation to aid in assembly while providing needed protection from the elements.

To say the least this is a huge job. We have been working for two months getting things together, first wrestling to embrace God’s vision for the project (I am coming to understand how Noah felt), second a place to paint the foundation, then finding the right paint for both sides of the foundation. All these things have to be in place before we start. Then we have to find a crew to paint?

2 Corinthians 4 tells us we have a treasure (the truth of our messiah) in clay jars (our human bodies), and as I have worked to conserve my energy to make it through. We have been hard pressed on every side during this process, but like diamonds there was a purpose, that we wouldn’t buy the wrong paint! God has sustain us, encouraged us, as we prepare to paint next week I rejoice that we will see the OTT foundation ready for the 2016 season!

If you are in the Portland, Oregon area, we invite you to bring a scripture of worship, praise or prayer to put on the underside of the OTT foundation, go to our Facebook page for more details!

Join me next time as we look at shining while we wait!

Blessings and Complete Joy,

Millie

Why We Have to Wait

28 01 2012

Last time we talked about waiting with expectancy for the promise. We learned the key to waiting with expectancy is to watch for God to show up. Too often we lose the joy of a promise fulfilled because we have not learned to wait, so today we are going to talk about why we have to wait.

God is going to show up long before the day your promise is fulfilled, to build a spiritual relationship with you. Often those days, weeks, months and years you spend walking with the Lord waiting for the promise to be fulfilled, afford your Heavenly Father the time to reveal He desires to supply all your spiritual and emotional needs, before your promise. He cares for the eternal as much as we care for the flesh!

Yes, walking those long days are hard, but if you allow your relationship with the Lord to grow, gone will be the days of thinking God is like your favorite bank of candy machines where you go to get your favorite blessing. You will learn no amount of prayer or offering is going to bring your promise about any faster. God waited to establish a spiritual a relationship to sustain you long after the glorious day your promise is fulfilled.

So I encourage you to enjoy the journey with God until the day your promise is fulfilled!

Blessings and Complete Joy,

Millie

Being in Step with God

10 09 2011

We have been talking about this new season of Reconciliation and Grace and key to our successful movement in this new season is being in step with God.

In a song called Deep Cry’s Out by Matthew Williams there is a line that said it all.

“If He goes to the left then we’ll go to the left and if He goes to the right then we’ll go to the right.”

God is in control of this new season and He may need things to seem upside down and backwards to me. The only way I can keep in step with him is to watch His movement rather than trying to focus on the events going on around me. Things aren’t going to flow as they have in the old season.

Prayer meetings aren’t going to be the same old prayer meetings, if we allow God to, He will break in and heal the broken and the wounded as never before. Salvations will be seen in churches that haven’t seen a salvation for a very long time and a season where churches are called to birth.

So remember being in step with God begins with spending time with Him, listening. We then must watch the movement of God so that we can keep in step with Him, realizing we will make some wrong steps as we learn to listen, watch and walk in this new season.

Blessings and Complete Joy,

Millie

Inviting God In!

5 08 2011

Last time we talked about what are we inviting into our lives, and in this post I want to talk about why we should invite the Lord into our lives daily.

So often we think inviting Jesus into our lives is a one-time event only for the new believer. Yet if we don’t continue to extend that invitation to God, to come ever deeper into our lives, we will never attain the maturity He intends us to have. We also endanger becoming who God created us to be.

For the last month I have been inviting God deeply into my life and it is changing me and giving me peace a new-found peace as I prepare to enter into this new season of reconciliation and grace (we will talk about this new season in a future posting). The peace I have has had some surprising effects.

Recently, I came upon a bank error which caused my account to be sent to collections. In the past I would have become so upset. Yet as I prepared to enter the bank I remembered that everyone makes mistakes and because of my attitude the bank manager took care of the error, contacting both my credit card company and the collection agency then credited my account with the bank fees before she called me back to tell me how it had all be resolved.

I am so thankful each and every day for the effects of inviting God ever deeper into my life!

(To see the prayer I use, please visit the “Restore page” of this blog.)

Blessings and Complete Joy,

Mildred

Entering a New Season

18 06 2011

It is interesting as we enter a new season sometimes God gives us a new name. Twenty years ago, my clients gave me a new name Mikki. Recently God is stirring another name, Millie. It is a name that I equate with joy and maturity for the only Millie I ever known what a wonderful woman I met in the early 1980’s and I always wished my name was Millie because of her.

For almost a year one of my close friends has called me Millie, feeling it suited me well, then another gal who has becoming a close friend has done the same thing, neither knew the other was calling me that and then I went to a meeting where the leader had such trouble calling me Mildred that she announced to the group, “I am just going to call you Millie”.  After the third woman started called me Millie, I realized God was making it clear I was walking into a new season.

I have found myself feeling like Abraham and Paul for I sense such a change in my life coming. It is amazing to think that God would bless me with the name of a woman I so admired, for she was so strong in the Lord. She had her faults as do I, but she was a woman after God’s own heart which is the kind of heart and life I desire to have.

Thanks Daddy for pointing out that the new season which I have waited for is truly coming. Let it come in your timing and may I embrace it with my body, soul and spirit.

Blessings and Complete Joy,

Mildred
