Being Ready, Able and Willing to Wait!

21 11 2014

bridge reflectionOur current series coming into agreement with God has been looking at corporate agreement. If you have been a follower of this blog you know I am very faithful in posting every week. For the last two weeks I have been silent. Not because I wanted to be, but because CJM has been moving forward.

Two scriptures are a great comfort as we struggle and wait for others to move forward in agreement with God. The first is from the book of Joshua where God speaks to Joshua as he prepares to take Israelites into the promised land:

“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.”

Joshua 1:9

Over the last two weeks I have struggled with CJM’s move forward. Even as I prepare to write this blog post I don’t know clockwhere our office will be. We are interested in leasing a suite with three offices, great for the next three years of growth! The board is in agreement with God and now we wait as the landlord struggles to come into agreement with God and present us with a lease agreement. Man’s coming into agreement with God takes time and energy especially when they don’t really know him.

The other scripture is from the book of Hebrews.

Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Heb 12:1-2

We have to be ready, able and willing to wait as we move forward with God, understanding it takes time for everyone involved to come into agreement and move forward. I leave you with these words of encouragement.

Be Strong and Courageous, for the Lord is with you wherever you go!

Blessings and Complete Joy,

Millie

Reveals and Searches for the Greater Good

15 09 2012

Today in our series Moving in the Spirit, we transition from Romans and into I Corinthians to see the Holy Spirit revealing all things including the mind of God for the greater good.

God’s Spirit has shown you everything. His Spirit finds out everything, even what is deep in the mind of God. 1Co 2:10 (CEV)

Paul here is speaking to the Corinthians concerning what the Lord himself is willing to reveal. It is the Holy Spirit who makes the deep things known, revealing the heart of both man and God.

Recently I was asked to come and pray for a woman’s sick son, as I drove to her home the Holy Spirit revealed her fear about her son’s illness. After spending time praying for her son, the spirit lead me to gently ask about her fear and as she acknowledged the truth, the fear was released and she was free to care of her son.

Knowing that the Holy Spirit knows us inside and out can be intimidating, but we must walk into the maturity of Christ, accepting this truth and trusting he will use this information as God does, for the greater good!

Blessings and Complete Joy,

Millie

Seeking the vision of God

30 04 2011

This process of seeking the vision of God for our lives begins with being a devoted follower of Jesus Christ.

If you are a regular reader of Journey to Complete Joy, then you probably have a relationship with Jesus, how devoted you are is a personal matter, for me it is very important, it is a life line that I rely on every day.

Following Jesus has great advantages, many which could be discussed in another blog. For now we are looking at Jesus, the door God provided through which we can see the vision and future of God.

When the cloth was cut between the Holy and the Holy of Holies at the death of Jesus this was a physical expression by God of His welcoming us into a deeper relationship with Him. The Holy of Holies is where the High Priests communed with God. The bible records how men left the Holy of Holies with direction for their lives. The greatest of these was Zechariah who found he and his wife Elizabeth would become the parents of John the Baptist (Luke 1).

As we spend time with God, He gives us direction for both our personal and corporate lives. I can’t tell you how many times as I spent time with the Lord in my prayer closet, He gave me direction for the blog I needed to write and every teaching I have been asked to give over the last twenty years.

Allow yourself to go into your prayer closet, entering into the holy of holies to meet your God and King, so that through you He might release His love for the world!

Blessings and Complete Joy,

Mildred

Passions stirring

15 03 2011

Heart and Spirit of Flag Worship presentation Logo

Is God stirring a passion in you?

Several of us involved in flag worship at church have felt the stirring of the Lord to prepare a teaching to present on flag worship. My friend Renee and I hadn’t really done much and then Sue, my other flag buddy went to visit a church for a school assignment where she found they used flags in worship.

Little did I know that here would become our first opportunity to share what the Lord was birthing in each of us. This body of believers is as hungry to worship the Lord as we are.

I say all of this for if the Lord is stirring something in your heart, then allow it to come forth and follow where the Lord leads! We have a date, two weeks from now to share our hearts and passion for worshipping the Lord, little did any of us know when we first picked up a flag to worship the Lord that it would take us into a ministry to the greater body of Christ.

Follow your passion and serve the Lord!

Blessings and Complete Joy,

Mildred

Season of the hunter?

5 02 2011

Recently while studying the bible I found a passage that has me thinking… are we in a season of the fishermen or the hunter?

Jeremiah 16:2 “But you have behaved more wickedly than your fathers. See how each of you is following the stubbornness of his evil heart instead of obeying me.” (That sounds like today)

Later he goes on to say…

JER 16:16-17 “But now I will send for many fishermen,” declares the LORD, “and they will catch them. After that I will send for many hunters, and they will hunt them down on every mountain and hill and from the crevices of the rocks. My eyes are on all their ways; they are not hidden from me, nor is their sin concealed from my eyes.”

And then Jeremiah 16:21 records:

“Therefore I will teach them– this time I will teach them my power and might. Then they will know that my name is the LORD.”

As I read these passages I think of the Jesus’ instructions to his disciples in Matthew 28:

MT 28:18-20 Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

For many years both in the US and around the world being a fishers of men was all that was required as men and women hungered for the Lord openly. Now in 2011 I see we who are Christians must be willing to hunt going over every mountain and hill to find them. Sometimes it is physical mountains and hills, while other times these mountains and hills are more emotion and spiritual in nature.

If we are entering the season of the hunter, we do not hunt with a crossbow or gun but with the truth of God which is mightier than a two-edged sword! So go out, hunt and seek those who are written in the lamb’s book of life that they might know that His name is Lord!

Blessings and Complete Joy,

Mildred

Looking to 2011

18 01 2011

1st communion cup and my 2011 communion cup

As God prepared me for 2011 I knew I was in for some big changes so I wasn’t surprised when just before the New Year while at the Thrift Store I found a new communion cup. As I looked at it, I felt a challenge in my spirit, to buy it as a symbol of my willingness to receive more of God in 2011. The cup is similar to one I used years ago, but is it so much bigger, having the ability to hold so much more.

In 2011 I am finally ready for the Lord to fill me more fully, no longer afraid to speak and to act and willing to be who God created me to be even at church. I have taken on the leadership of the greeters and the altar ministry teams, some of the duties I had as a prayer pastor at both churches I work in.

My creativity is once again alive as I work for the Lord, creating a visitor’s cup as well as name badges for each of the people in the two areas I lead. And just before Christmas at our ladies gathering I was asked to help lead music with one of my friends from our worship team, and for the first time in almost 10 years people heard me sing. I was surprised when a talented singer at church before she left walked up and asked me to be part of a trio, her singing tenor and I singing soprano.

2011 will be a year where writing is in the forefront and so I will have to keep my eyes on God’s priorities so I can complete my first book this year. That seems to be my greatest challenge in 2011, and I believe with the help of God I am up to it!

What does God have prepared for you in 2011?

Take time and listen for His still small voice and agree with His plans, praying them in, then with an open and expectant spirit watch God move!

Blessings and Complete Joy,

Mildred

Miracle of Receptiveness

18 12 2010

Last time we talked about the Miracle of Transformation. This time we will be talking about the miracle that opens all doors, the miracle of receptiveness.

The miracle that opens all doors:

You can make anyone receptive if you serve them.

As we search the word serve we find many scriptures which support this statement. I have chosen four, two in the gospels, one in Ephesians 6 and the last one in 1 Peter 4. The gospel passages, Matthew 20:28 and Mark 10:45 are what is called a harmony, because they share the same account.

“For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”

Jesus knew the miracle of receptiveness, and it is why he served people, giving his life for it reveal the length of God’s love for us.

Is this miracle of receptiveness still true today?

Working 5 hours a week as a personal care assistant, I have watched the woman I work for come to a place of attentively listening as I serve her, this is but one example of the miracle of receptiveness which brings me to the last two scriptures for they answer the power behind this miracle of receptiveness?

Ephesians 6:7 inspires me, for I serve her wholeheartedly as if I were serving the Lord, not men. And I have seen great progress in her healing for I follow yet another scripture 1 Peter 4:10, reminding us to faithfully administer God’s grace in its various forms, and serving is one of those forms.

As we serve the miracle of receptiveness is activated for through faith we partner with God to see them as one of his creations, releasing the love of God to touch there lives in miraculous ways.

Join me next time as we explore the third of these everyday miracles, having the right motives!

Blessings and Complete Joy,

Mildred
