Prepare to Shine Brightly!

1 01 2016

2016 calendarAs we begin 2016 it has been a tradition for the Lord to give me a prophetic word for his people at the beginning of the year. I believe keeping Phil 1:6 is a key scripture as we enter this year.

“… being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.”

Php 1:6

I have been struggling with all the changes in my life. From changing churches to embracing my Jewishness. I said good-bye to my messianic body of believers as 2015 came to a close and as I did I have been forced to embrace who I am. I have made the decision to honor God by holding Sabbat each week. I had been struggling with how to begin because I couldn’t find a candle holder, so I decided to make one.shabbat candle holder

I prayed and I looked at the craft store I purchased this simple wood plaque and wood candle cups and brought them home. I took a picture to send to a friend of my project I began seeing the profound prophetic word for 2016 which God was releasing.

I sense we who believe in Yeshua (Jesus) are being set apart for something big.

Like this wood, we are yet unfinished for in the former season God shaped us and molded us but the work we were created for was never finished completely and like the candle cups which are as yet unsecured for the screws which I purchased to secure them were far too short so is the depth of our relationship with our God.

Our job is to be willing to accept the depth of relationship with Yeshua that is required for our light to shine brightly before men in this season and to rest in the truth that He who began a good work in us will bring it to completion!

Walk with expectation in 2016 for the Lord to shine brightly through you!

Meaning of a Savior – part 2

13 11 2015

Is 9Last time we began the series, Meaning of a Savior and today we are going to unpack Isaiah 9:6 first phrase by phrase, then word by word as we look at Yeshua (Jesus) and who he is!

“For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.”

Isa 9:6

We are tempted as we unpack this verse to overlook the first couple of phrases to get to the meat. Isaiah knew the importance of these first phrases so let’s unpack them too!

“For to us a child is born”, this first phase tells us several things about our savior. First, our savior is ours! We need to make our savior personal. The second is that our savior is real, because he was born just like you and I were, he wasn’tBaby beamed off of some space ship, sorry star trek fans. But he wasn’t. He was born in a manger. He lived the life of a child, he had dirty diapers and had to learn to walk and to talk. He had to deal with bullies and even being lost as a child.

This often overlook phrase reminds us our savior is real, as real as the fingers that are typing these words and your eyes that are reading this post. Our Savior, your savior and my savior, he is real. Let us rejoice as we meditate on the meaning of our savior, for he is indeed real and not some fictional character in a juice novel!

Join me next time as we unpack “to us a son is given”

Markers of Maturity

12 06 2015

11087581_sWe are in a series called maturity in our ever shifting atmosphere.  Last time we explored God-given maturity learning our obedience is through agreeing with God’s plans and purposes. In this post we will look at maturity what it is in an ever shifting atmosphere.

What is maturity? Maturity is being fully developed. Maturity is not something we can learn in a moment rather it is a state of being. Hebrews 12 gives several markers of maturity.

“Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.”

Heb 12:1-2

It takes maturity, years of practice to be able to throw off every hindrance. It takes starting and stopping, trying and failing to Leadershipcome to that place where you are fully developed and able to throw off sin “to run with perseverance the race marked out for us”. It is in being mature, we keep our eyes focused on the author and perfector of our faith (NIV) no matter the cost. This final sentence in Heb 12-2 sums it up the value of maturity, for we like Christ can endure the tribulation our lives bring as we run the race marked out by God for each of us!

Join me next time as we talk more about maturity as we learn the value of starting and stopping in this ever shifting atmosphere

Blessings and Complete Joy,

Millie

What is Transition?

9 10 2012

Today we begin a new topic, one near and dear to everyone’s heart. I am kidding, because transition is no ones favorite topic and if you are a guy, change another more common word for transition is like a four letter (dirty) word!

A simple definition of transition is passing from one state, stage, space or subject to another.

Currently I have friends and family who are buying and selling houses, changing churches and entering school you might add your own transitions, jobs, relationship status, etc. Transition or change is everywhere just look outside your door as the weather here in America moves from summer to fall.

Personally I have two areas of transition. One is walking with Complete Joy Ministries into non-profit status, the other is to embrace my Hebrew heritage. Transitions are a challenge and sometimes difficult, we all have then and they affect all areas of our lives.

I hope you will join me next time as we look at our first transition, Adam and Eve leaving the garden!

On a side note, every series will carry the same heading picture so that if you begin in the middle or end of a series and want to find the beginning the pictures will make it easy to find!

Blessings and Complete Joy,

Millie

Reveals and Searches for the Greater Good

15 09 2012

Today in our series Moving in the Spirit, we transition from Romans and into I Corinthians to see the Holy Spirit revealing all things including the mind of God for the greater good.

God’s Spirit has shown you everything. His Spirit finds out everything, even what is deep in the mind of God. 1Co 2:10 (CEV)

Paul here is speaking to the Corinthians concerning what the Lord himself is willing to reveal. It is the Holy Spirit who makes the deep things known, revealing the heart of both man and God.

Recently I was asked to come and pray for a woman’s sick son, as I drove to her home the Holy Spirit revealed her fear about her son’s illness. After spending time praying for her son, the spirit lead me to gently ask about her fear and as she acknowledged the truth, the fear was released and she was free to care of her son.

Knowing that the Holy Spirit knows us inside and out can be intimidating, but we must walk into the maturity of Christ, accepting this truth and trusting he will use this information as God does, for the greater good!

Blessings and Complete Joy,

Millie

Stirred into Action by the Spirit

18 08 2012

Last time we looked at Zechariah 4:6 and so today we continue our study of moving in the Spirit as we look at Acts 17:16-17.

“While Paul was waiting in Athens, he was upset to see all the idols in the city.   He went to the Jewish meeting place to speak to the Jews and to anyone who worshiped with them. Day after day he also spoke to everyone he met in the market.”

We can be stirred into action, by our bodies, such as having to go to the bathroom, we can be stirred into action by our souls, as with a baby’s cry and so too our spirits can be stirred to action, by the Holy Spirit!

Paul was upset to see all the idols in the city, it was his spirit which was stirred into action causing him day after day to go into the marketplace speaking to everyone he met. It is the Holy Spirit which sustains us as we are stirred into action.

When the Holy Spirit stirs us to act amazing things can and do happen. I remember while in college I was stirred into action and after prayerful preparation, I went to the Vice President of our college and ask him if we could begin forming a student council. By the end of the year the student council was elected and in the years to come they did amazing things for the college!

When the Holy Spirit stirs you act, pray and move forward!

Blessings and Complete Joy,

Millie

David’s Inheritance

17 07 2012

As we look at the value David put on God through Psalm 16 we come to verses 3 – 5 where David contrasts the lives of other saints who have fallen way to serve other gods with his own choice to follow the Lord.

Psa 16:3  But to the saints that are in the earth, and to the excellent, in whom is all my delight.

Psa 16:4  Their sorrows shall be multiplied that hasten after another god: their drink offerings of blood will I not offer, nor take up their names into my lips.

Psa 16:5  The LORD is the portion of mine inheritance and of my cup: thou maintainest my lot.

David remembered and honored his relationship with God in verse five, empowering him to stand firm.

How hard it is when our friends or family members choose to run after other gods. In David’s day, the other god was Baal today the other god’s our friends and family are turning to have other more familiar names, new age or money to name just a few.

David reminded himself the Lord is his inheritance, his cup, and his lot. David was all in, without reservation choosing the Lord. As we face these days of turmoil we must do the same empowering ourselves to stand firm in every situation.

If you go to the Equip page of this blog and scroll down to the bottom, just above the comments, you will find a wonderful daily prayer (highlighted in purple) to help you choose the Lord each and every day!

Blessings and Complete Joy,

Millie
