Some final thoughts on Love…
What Did Jesus Ask Us to Do in Love

********************************

Journey to Maturity

This journey into maturity begins on October 1, 2009 as we ask and agree with God to release us from all forms of fear bonds and replacing them with bonds of love and faith. In November 2009 we will ask and agree with God as he breaks all forms of trauma bonds in us. Finally, in December 2009 we will ask and agree with God as he breaks all forms of shame bonds in us.

What are bonds? “They are the connections that energize us, motivating our actions and establish our identity.” (from Living From the Heart Jesus Gave You)

All bonds energize and motivate us and influence and impact our identity. When we allow fear, trauma and shame bonds to establish our identity we are unable to walk into the maturity God created us to have.

When bonds of love, hope and joy replace these bonds of fear, trauma and shame we can walk into a greater level of maturity allowing God’s will and his identity to be established in us so that every action we take reinforces our identity in him.

Shame Bonds

This month is all about Shame, and Guilt, Grace and Joy. We will be breaking Shame Bonds and replace them with bonds of grace and joy.

As you pray through this month’s topic of shame remember to ask the Lord to reveal all known and unknown or hidden shame to break your shame bonds.

Shame has several faces; the first has everything to do with sin and guilt. Whether the shame comes by way of something we have done accidently, a sin of omission, or through sins of commission, those we choose to commit. Both have appropriate feelings of guilt and shame because of the action committed. To address these shame bonds, confession, and genuine repentance and where appropriate forgiveness, any and all of these actions maybe necessary before dealing with these shame bonds.

The second is the more common and what we usually label as shame, arising from unmet childhood needs – to be loved unconditionally, to be valued and to feel secure, the authors of Christ Centered Therapy also write, parents, siblings, or other authority figures directly or indirectly relay shaming messages concerning our bodies, our feelings and our needs.

In addressing both sources of shame bonds we will be able to have a more complete freedom.

Job 11:14-15 tells us, if you put away the sin that is in your hand and allow no evil to dwell in your tent, then you will lift up your face without shame; you will stand firm and without fear.

God never desires that we walk in shame. As recorded in Genesis 2:25; where “the man and his wife were both naked and felt no shame”.

Remember, appropriate feelings of shame and guilt leads to repentance and freedom while inappropriate feelings of shame and guilt lead to emotional and sometimes to physical manifestations of shame bonds.

Breaking a shame bond is a very similar process to breaking both fear bonds, and breaking trauma bonds. Remember if you have feelings of shame or guilt concerning any topic; ask the Lord to calm those feelings, allowing Lord to reveal truth concerning the shame and/or guilt you feel, take the appropriate action as lead by the Lord, and give these feelings over to Jesus. It is okay to take this process slowly, and it is why we are cutting these weeks into specific areas of shame. First to be addressed is spiritual shame, followed by generational shame, followed by physical shame, emotional shame and finally situational shame.

During the second week, you will be addressing generational issues, should you desire to do a guided cleansing of your generational line, please used the attached information.

The process:

  1. Begin by praising God and walking into his presence.
  2. Confess anything that is between you and the Lord.
  3. Ask the Holy Spirit to lead you into all truth.
  4. Then pray this prayer.

In the name of Jesus Christ I come before you Father and I ask to revealing all shame bonds I have with (insert the day’s topic).

(give yourself a moment to hear from the Lord)

I come before you and agree that knowing the truth will set me free from the shame and guilt of my past, and so I break off all shame bonds I have with (insert the day’s topic).

(if there are any specific things God is calling you to pray, remember to do that here)

Father, with the precious blood of Jesus I cut the fruit and effects of this/these shame bond(s) in my life and in there place I agree in the establishment of bonds of grace to surround and protect me and bonds of joy to sustain and strengthen me.

    (take time to praise the Lord for what He has done)

Fear Bonds

freedom hands          Each of the next 31 days we will be coming to the Lord knowing that as we do He will release us from every fear bond we have, for perfect love cases out all fear, 1 John 4:18.

This is a simple process to ask and believe that God has released you from the fear bonds you have. We step out in faith and as we do, we have freedom. Once that freedom is received we need to replace those fear bonds with bonds of faith and love. God is love and as we have bonds that are out of the love of God we can see the world and ourselves clearly, walking into truth in the process.

The process:

  1. Begin by praising God and walking into his presence.
  2. Confess anything that is between you and the Lord.
  3. Ask the Holy Spirit to lead you into all truth.
  4. Then pray this prayer.

In the name of Jesus Christ I come before you Father and I agree with you in revealing all fear bonds having to do with (insert the day’s topic).  Give yourself a moment to hear from the Lord.

I come before you and agree that your perfect love casts out all fear and so I break off all fear bonds I have with (insert the day’s topic). If there are any specific things God is calling you to pray, remember to do that.

Father, I cut the fruit and effects of this fear bond upon my life and in there place I place bonds of love and the faith to receive your love to surround and protect me. Now take time to praise the Lord for what He has done)

Breaking Trauma Bonds

During the month of November we will be breaking Trauma Bonds, which come in two forms, A type and B type trauma causing trauma bonding, or trauma bonds. Breaking all trauma bonds is a second step in that process of breaking through to joy.

A type trauma and A type trauma bonds are formed by an absence of necessary good, like the loss of a parent.  This absence of necessary good in our lives is often overlooked because we don’t identify this type of loss as a trauma and therefore do not realize the absence of necessary good can be an area we have trauma and need healing.

B type trauma and B type trauma bonds are formed when bad things that happen in our lives. B type trauma is what we easily label as trauma. Remember even the smallest of bad things, like the taunting of a bully in the third grade or the loss of a treasured pet can scare a child for life.

As you pray through this month’s topic of trauma remember to ask the Lord to reveal both kinds of trauma so that you can break all the trauma bonds you have. If you need to take time to talk with someone about any discovered trauma, please do. It is not our intention to uncover trauma and stuff it, rather to truly break the trauma bonds, you must work through your feelings about the event, and resolve your emotional conflict.

Please notice on day 26 we will be focusing on Children and Step-children, we are including any traumas connected to their conception, birth and death (should it apply). In the case of a step child, look back to the moment you found out about that child (conception), and when that child became more then a casual part of your life (birth of relationship), if there was never a relationship with a child or step-child then you will also need to seek the Lord about any trauma bonds that may exist; even this lack of bonding can cause trauma bond as well as years of pain. Also look at any deaths, including emotional and spiritual deaths (as with a break up of a family or a wayward child) that you may have experienced. You want to allow all the trauma bonds to come to light and to be replaced with bonds of truth and hope.

When we walk out of trauma and into truth we begin seeing things from God’s perspective and as we do, God truth reveals a brighter emotional future, and replace trauma with truth and hope can release treasured nuggets of hope for the future.

Breaking trauma bonds is very similar to what you did in October to break fear bonds with one big difference, trauma can be more emotional. Remember that you have broken fear and its bonds, so if fear rises, stand against it. Also, if you have feelings of shame concerning any trauma, ask the Lord to calm any feelings of shame, then allow Lord to reveal truth concerning the trauma and give any feelings of shame over to Jesus. In December we will be breaking shame bonds, so rejoice as the Lord leads you to His truth and hope this month.

If you have not asked someone to pray for you on your journey to maturity, please do. The spiritual support is very important especially this month.

 Breaking Trauma Bonds

The process:

  1. Begin by praising God and walking into his presence.
  2. Confess anything that is between you and the Lord.
  3. Ask the Holy Spirit to lead you into all truth.
  4. Then pray this prayer.

In the name of Jesus Christ I come before you Father and I agree with you in revealing all trauma bonds which I have with (insert the day’s topic).

(give yourself a moment to hear from the Lord, ask this question what absences of necessary good happened causing trauma bonding, and if needed ask what bad things happened causing trauma bonding. Asking these questions will reveal trauma bonds if your spirit is in agreement.)

I come before you and agree that if I know the truth, then the truth will set me free from the trauma of my past, and so I break off all trauma bonds I have with (insert the day’s topic).

(if there are any specific things God is calling you to pray, remember to do that)

Father I cut the fruit and effects of this/these trauma bond (s) in my life and in there place I place bonds of truth to surround and protect me and confidence in the hope of God.

Use the S.O.A.P Method of Bible Reading

S.O.A.P. stands for Scripture, Observation, Application, Prayer. It’s a great way to delve more deeply into your Bible reading, and record your thoughts, emotions and connections when studying scripture. S.O.A.P. is meant to be a journal you create with your regular Bible reading, using the process as you read each day, but it can also be an effective tool to help you connect with particular passages. You can use it with any Bible reading plan, whether you’re reading straight through from Genesis to Revelation, or following a reading plan from your church, study Bible or the internet.
Instructions:soap-insert
Step 1
Find a quiet time and space to read your Bible, preferably at the same time each day. Many people find that reading scripture in the morning helps get their day off to a focused start.

Step 2
Complete the “S” by reading the scripture. Don’t just skim through it, but really think about what it means. You may find it helpful to do as Beth Moore does, she asks the Lord to “speak through His word” as she reads. It is also helpful to imagine what the people in the passage were experiencing. Write down a verse or two that really stood out to you in your journal.

Step 3
Complete the “O” by writing down observations about the scripture you just read. You may want to write your own summary of the passage, but more importantly, think about what God has to say to you through this part of his word.

Step 4
Complete the “A” by writing down how this Bible passage applies to you right now, in your daily life. For example, in the parable about the prodigal son, which character do you identify with most: the loving and merciful father, the son who squanders his life and then repents or the resentful older brother? Do you see similar situations in your life right now? How can you respond in the way Jesus taught?

Step 5
Complete the “P” by writing down a prayer. This is a personal message from you to God, so don’t worry about getting the perfect words down. Just make it honest and heartfelt. Remember that God always listens, and already knows your needs. He just wants to hear from you.

What is Spiritual Hygiene?
     Spiritual Hygiene is the concept of spiritual warfare from the perspective of maintenance and prevention always keeping in mind a biblical perspective rather then the familiar way of going in for deliverance when you find your life is out of control.
     If you come to this material in that condition don’t lose heart the Lord will reveal the best way for you to walk in freedom and I believe that prevention and maintenance is key.
     Spiritual Hygiene is based on relationship with Christ.  Allowing Him to reveal truth and then walking with him into freedom and maintaining it with power and authority as you speak scripture into your life.
     Your words are powerful and using the words breathed by God in the Bible brings the greatest measure of authority to you here on earth. The byproduct of using this material is scripture memorization, which comes as you use these prayers in your daily life. There are truths that you can stand on in the most trying of times, right at your fingertips!
The topics covered through these prayers are Daily Confession and Binding, Armour of God, Generational Ties, Lies, Stronghold and Curses, Soul Bonds/Ties, and finally the removal of Demonic forces.
Below is a sample from our material called “Here’s your Toothbrush” a daily confession and binding prayer.
 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Here’s your Toothbrush ~~ Daily confession & binding prayer
Oh Father,
         I chose this day whom I will serve, not the enemy but the Lord. The Lord is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer, my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge. He is my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold, all others I lay aside.
         I confess (my sin to God) For God is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
         Devil and all your forces, I bind you hand and foot, and cast you out into the outer darkness, for Jesus to deal with, for I know whatever I bind on Earth shall be bound in Heaven. Let Christ, be the judge of you!
         These burdens laid aside, I now take Christ’s yoke upon me and I will learn from him; for his yoke is easy and his burden is light, as I walk into the will the Lord has for my life. For I can do everything God asks me with the help of Christ who gives me the strength and power.
In Christ’s name I pray. Amen.
It’s refreshing to once and for all find a writer who actually knows what they are talking about. Seriously, with as much info as there is floating around on the net, TV, radio, and magazines, it is difficult to know what to think nowadays. I’m glad to know I’m not the only chick who thinks this way.
