Finishing Well

10 07 2015

mountain and valley1We are in a series called maturity in our ever shifting atmosphere.  Last time we explored God-given maturity and beginning well. Today we are looking finishing well.

When I think of finishing well these words, he who began a good work in you… from Philippians 1 come to mind. Let’s look at the whole verse.

“In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now, being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.”

Php 1:4-6

Paul is speaking of those people who partnered with him in the spreading of the gospel. He is confident that God who began a good work in them, to follow Christ, will carry them through to the very last day of their lives.

The key to finishing well is relying on God. Hebrews 12:2 tells us “fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and finisher of faith”. It is in keeping your eyes focused on God and looking to at Jesus’ life as our model we learn how to finish well.

Two years ago, God gave a vision of an Oregon Tabernacle Tent and how 10 people would sew into this work and finance thetabernacle tent to buy purchase of this tent. Some have prayed into this vision, others have given to its purchase and this week CJM purchased the 20×20 tent. This phase of the journey is finishing well, having come through the believing for its purchase. It took keeping our eyes focused on God, his plans and purposes to see it come into reality. It seems a long time coming, yet as CJM purchased the tent I thought, “really God are we ready to move forward?” So we are off to another beginning and I know God will bring the Oregon Tabernacle Tent mission to completion as we keep our eyes fixed and focused on him!

Blessings and Complete Joy,

Millie

Walking Without Understanding

19 12 2014

bridge reflectionWe have been blogging about walking in agreement with God. Walking in agreement sometimes means you are walking without understanding.

Whether its for a desired pregnancy, or a new office, often we come to that place when things are not moving forward as promised or planned causing us to begin asking, did we hear the Lord.

I have been doing that very thing for the last two weeks as our move in date has come and gone and still the needed work on the space is not even started, causing us to miss out an a donation of 4 reception chairs because we had no place to put them. Thank God we don’t begin paying rent until January 2015! My husband had even planned to take me away for a short vacation before opening the office and now even that has been put on hold. So it is very easy to ask myself, did we hear God.oak desk

This week there was a ray of hope as an office desk was picked up and delivered to the one office where no changes are needed. It sits there establishing God’s presence, and reminding our board,  we did hear God, as well as encouraging us to move forward according to His plan, even if we don’t fully understand!

As you look at the plans the Lord has for your life in 2015, don’t be afraid to bring the old season to a close, stick close to God, hear His still small voice and be strong and courageous for the Lord is with you wherever you go!

Blessings and Complete Joy,

Millie

Agreement with God take a keen ear!

3 10 2014

Abridge reflectiongreement with God is a tricky thing. It takes listening with a keen ear. What if things don’t work out as the Lord shows you, what will you do?

On the 25th of September, CJM and the building owner could not come into agreement on the lease and so CJM had to walk away. It has been a tough week walking with God as I struggled to put one foot in front of the other.

Did I hear God, I sensed from the Lord I was to give them a chance to walk hand in hand with God’s will for the office space. Now it is time to walk away with join knowing God will continue to reveal the plans and purposes He has for CJM.

This journey has caused me to wonder, How many time did Moses see God’s will but the children of God choose not to walk into agreement so they had to take another trip around the mountain as Israel learned to walk in agreement with God.Abraham

I can’t imagine how Moses felt, but it does put a new light on his frustration as he hit the rock twice as he spoke those words in Numbers 20:10, ” Hear now, ye rebels; must we fetch you water out of this rock?”

Moses knew the desire of God to provide for his people. He also knew how God himself longed for Israel to come into agreement and walk into the promised land.

Abba, help us to choose to walk into agreement with your plans and your will rather than having to walk another time around the mountain!

Blessings and Complete Joy,

Millie

Let Nothing Move You!

22 08 2014

11076235_sSometimes we know there is a door that hasn’t opened yet, what do we do then?

Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.

1Co 15:58

I believe in that time of waiting for the door to open it is our job to press in, in faith continue to work and never stop praying! Don’t question when the door will open, instead chose to come into to agreement that in God’s timing it will open.

Here is an example, I have lead a group of intercessors around Oregon for the last year and as we prayed and prepared, we heard the Lord say, hold a celebration in Salem! One of our core group was involved in Salem House of Prayer and so he began the process of contacting them.

As we finished the last of the journey to re-establish the cornerstone of Christ we still didn’t have a date. We hoped for a date in September and now it was the 14th of August. How was God going to open that door? The Lord kept saying there were to be lots of people at the gathering  he promised me “He would take care of that”. Still with no date, I had no choice but to continue to work toward the goal and prayerfully put it in God’s hands.

After seven days, I received the call that Salem House of Prayer was extending an invitation either to have a small group evening on a Wednesday or the option to join their September 5th gathering! We chose the September 5th date so God has indeed brought the crowd He promised!

God’s plans and purposes are above anything we can ask for or imagine. Trust and obey, believing in God to prepare the way!

Blessings and Complete Joy,

Millie

Keys of Faith – to believe

20 06 2014

9226064_sWalking by faith and not by sight requires us to several things, the greatest of these is to believe!

“And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.”
Hebrews 11:6

Believing is key to walking by faith and not by sight. When we believe God is who He said he is, then wezagart701 - landscape can have faith to walk knowing, He will do what He said He is going to do. Without belief in God we walk around “doing” good things based on what we can see with our own eyes which can lead even the best of Christians in to a life lacking the miraculous moves of God we were created to embrace by faith!

Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
Heb 12:1

Join me next time when we talk about another Key to Faith –  trust.

Blessings and Complete Joy,

Millie

Our Isaiah 42 trip

23 03 2010

In my last blog I shared about how Isaiah 42:16 encouraged me as I thought about the trip we were taking down the gorge.

The trip went off as planned, with 8 intercessors traveling the 2 hours from Portland, Oregon down the gorge crossing over into Washington arriving at our final destination, the Maryhill Stonehenge.

God began calling our group to visit Stonehenge to see the glory of the Lord fall last year, and March 20th we went to pray and blessed the sight inviting the Lord to come as He intended to and as we prayed we saw joy spring forth and dwell in the land. It was an amazing feeling as we walked the ground and took communion together.

I watched our team having taken the step of faith, coming to Stonehenge; going beyond that place of hope for God to show up, as we were confronted by a Mormon scout troop leader who stopped to visit Stonehenge. Our team didn’t miss a beat, giving a sweet but simple public testimony and reaching out inviting them to join us, and when the leader gracefully declined, it clear nothing was going to stop us from meeting our God there.

Belief’s momentum turned hope into praise as we anointed the grounds and embraced God and the joy of the Lord as it arose in the land, filled our team with great joy!

If you go there you will probably see no physical change at Stonehenge unless the 2 foot cross we planted is still there, but the spiritual climate has changed for sure, for the Lord is residing there, and so we rejoice for God has done what he said, he did not forsake us, nor we did not forsake him.

So be encouraged by these words in Isaiah:

I will lead the blind by ways they have not known, along unfamiliar paths I will guide them; I will turn the darkness into light before them and make the rough places smooth. These are the things I will do; I will not forsake them. ISA 42:16

Blessings and Complete Joy,
