Entering the New Season – part 3 Don’t Dwell in the Past

19 01 2017

2017Last time we looked at the key of Forgetting in our series of how to enter the new season, today we look at the second key. Dwelling and where we are to dwell as we continue in Isaiah 43.

“Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past.

See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?

I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.”

Isaiah 43:18-19

Let us define the word dwell:

  • Live in or at a specified place.
  • Think, speak, or write at length about (a particular subject, especially one that is a source of unhappiness, anxiety, or dissatisfaction).

Once we forget the former things, we have to stop living there. We have to come out of the past. 2 Cor 5:17 needs to be ever before us in 2017, for those who accept Yeshua as Messiah are dwellinga new creation, the old has gone and the new is here! So you and I must resist our internal voice of the past which brings condemnation, that voice of mom, dad or other authority figure. There is a spark of truth which still hurts. That isn’t the devil. It is the past. You must take authority over the pain and hurt of the past, deal with the pain when God calls you to, and forget the former things walking completely with every ounce of your body, soul and spirit into the new thing!

I pray for each of you, I see the Lord blessing you, I see the Lord’s grace being poured out upon your past, that in that place of grace the peace of God which passes all understanding will guard your heart and mind in Yeshua Messiah as you walk into the new things which await you in 2017!

Join me next time as we look at the new thing God is doing in your life!

Blessings and Complete Joy,

Millie

Meaning of a Savior – part 4

27 11 2015

Is 9are in a series Meaning of a Savior and last time we look at Yeshua (Jesus) God’s precious son given to us and today we are going to at the third phase of Isaiah 9:6, “and the government will be on his shoulders”.

“For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.”

Isa 9:6

To unpack this phrase “and the government will be on his shoulders” we need to understand what government our Father is talking about in Isaiah. He is not talking about the government of men as the people in the time of Isaiah hoped. Even when Yeshua came they were looking for an earthly king, who would save them from the ternary of Roman dictatorship and because they were looking for this earthly king they didn’t recognize him.

You and I must examine what we are looking for in a Savior. Are we crosslooking for someone who will save us from our hurting marriage, from a government who is looking to everything but the one true God or are we looking for the one who save us from our own sin, destroying every door of the enemy who desires to destroy the kingdom of God within us!

We must look to this savior, who establishes within us his kingdom, his authority and  his government and his love!

Join me next time as we unpack the title of “Wonderful Counselor”.

Blessings and Complete Joy,

Millie

Maturity through Obedience

22 05 2015

11087581_sWe are in a series called maturity in our ever shifting atmosphere.  Last time we explored God-given maturity through relationship. Today we explore maturity through obedience in an ever shifting atmosphere.

Webster defines Obedience: to come into compliance with the demands or requests of one in authority. Listen to these words from Proverbs.

Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.

Proverbs 3:5 – 6

God invites us through relationship to trust and obey Him. Without relationship obedience is like an evil task master or an overbearing boss because this obedience is out of fear not relationship. What will get us through these ever shifting times as we await Messiah’s returns is listening to God and trusting him so we come into agreement (obey) him.

Recently God asked a curious thing of me, “not to leave the city limits of Portland, Oregon for a month” and because of our faith challengerelationship I have come into agreement with His request. It is a choice to obey and for me to obey is joy. During this time one friend said “it is like in Acts 1:4 when the disciples were told not to leave Jerusalem”. Another friend said “God is setting you apart”, while my husband and I believed in the beginning it was for my protection. I suspect some if not all of these are true!

Obedience can be tough and for me it has been. I can’t visit my daughters and grandkids who lives outside the city limits of Portland, I missed going to the big NDP event and worst of all I couldn’t get the items I needed to fix my husband’s sweater! Thank God for the internet.

The steps of obedience to God which lead to maturity are always a challenge as much as they can be an adventure, Father make them in this season pure joy!

Blessings and Complete Joy,

Millie

Hungering for God’s Presence!

19 09 2014
Vision for CJM office

Vision for CJM office

Agreement has been our focus for several blogs and today is no different. Today we look at agreement with God for His presence to be established.

In the presence of Israel God desired to establish Himself upon the earth in certain places and that is true today. God desires that we seek to come into agreement with where He wants to establish His presence.

And the LORD will create upon every dwelling place of mount Zion, and upon her assemblies, a cloud and smoke by day, and the shining of a flaming fire by night: for upon all the glory shall be a defense.

Isa 4:5

Our ministry is taking a huge step to seek the lease of a 436 sq foot office space, that is a $500 a month commitment. As the Oregon Prayer Call group prayed the Lord challenged me to come into agreement with where He wanted to establish His presence for CJM to walk into. Right now the space is one huge room. I am requesting the build-out to make it two separate spaces, one side for classes and training and the other small offices for ministry.

It may not seem like the right thing for the owners of the building to do for the long term and so we may not be able to come into agreement causing CJM to look elsewhere. As we prayed I saw why there were no partitioning walls, because in the space CJM inhabits will be a fresh work, a new work and move over, before the walls are, the presence of God will be. At that moment I had peace, to see CJM through even if this isn’t the space. It was the peace that passes all understanding, which guards your heart and mind in Christ Jesus and with it the awe and wonder of God which fills the hearts of men!

As we finished I knew CJM would only establish its office where the Lord’s presence dwells no matter where that is! For it is through the glory of His presence which comes resurrection life and the healing of a hurting world!

Blessings and Complete Joy,

Millie

Keys of Faith – to believe

20 06 2014

9226064_sWalking by faith and not by sight requires us to several things, the greatest of these is to believe!

“And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.”
Hebrews 11:6

Believing is key to walking by faith and not by sight. When we believe God is who He said he is, then wezagart701 - landscape can have faith to walk knowing, He will do what He said He is going to do. Without belief in God we walk around “doing” good things based on what we can see with our own eyes which can lead even the best of Christians in to a life lacking the miraculous moves of God we were created to embrace by faith!

Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
Heb 12:1

Join me next time when we talk about another Key to Faith –  trust.

Blessings and Complete Joy,

Millie

Let the Fallowing Happen!

16 05 2014

20140430_093934Last time I talked about God’s call in this season for some things to lay fallow. Since the creation of the world God established Sabbath rest, allowing for a natural fallowing for all of creation.

Dictionary.com gives two definitions for the word fallowing; one specifically focused on the land, the other is focused on humanity.

1.(of land) plowed and left unseeded for a season or more; uncultivated.
2. not in use; inactive: “My creative energies have lain fallow this year.”

In Leviticus 25, God speaks of the care the people of God are to take concerning the land. They are to give the land a Sabbath rest every seventh year allowing the land to lay fallow including the pruning of their vineyards. They can eat of the fields during the seventh year but they are to give the land a complete rest.

In Deuteronomy 5 we see God speaking to the Sabbath rest of man as we are commanded to keep the Sabbath holy. We are to5187keyhole allow things to lay fallow in our lives and do no work. Here in America we don’t understand this need for Sabbath rest and because we don’t understand the need for our Sabbath rest we don’t understand when God calls us to allow things in our life to go fallow.

Looking back at Leviticus 26 we see the blessings God desires to release when we keep the Sabbath rest in the land: from sending rain, a plentiful harvest, to peace in the land!

I truly believe when God calls something to go fallow in our lives, whether it is a friendship, a branch of ministry, or some other activity as we come into agreement with God and rest, we allow for the increase of God’s blessings to flow.

If God is calling you to let something to go fallow, press in and let the fallowing happen and rest in the blessings which follow!

Blessings and Complete Joy,
Millie

Lessons Learned – #1

26 02 2014

6304066_sWe are finishing the series on demonic attacks by looking at several lessons learned. To read from the beginning go to the January 29th post in this blog.

The story ends..

As this two months came to an end I expected something to change. But to my surprise nothing happened or so I thought. As I began surveying the prior two months, where I had been focusing on just surviving, now I could look at how the events had changed my life.

It was curious as people came asking for help with demonic attacks and instead of instructing 5892585_sthem, I now engaged in the process, demonstrating and modeling the confidence we have in Christ, not just how to do it. After this happened the second time I realized this trial had awakened a tiger who was going to defend the body of Christ to the death!

The Lesson Learned!

Spiritual muscles can become out of shape, just as with our physical bodies, standing our ground against the enemy allows those muscles to be tried and tested becoming stronger. I have had the tools but the muscles needed a work out. The next time an attack comes, understand God could be using this time in your life, in part, to strengthen you!

Blessings and Complete Joy,

Millie
