The Relationship that Sustain in a Shifting Atmosphere!

1 05 2015

11087581_sIn our last post we opened a series on our ever shifting atmosphere and the need for maturity. These words are key, for they reveal the difference between walking in maturity and walking in our own strength.

If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love,

I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal.

If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing.

If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast,

but do not have love, I gain nothing.

1Co 13:1 – 3

Before there is obedience, before their is maturity leading naturally into authority, there must be an encounter with God our Father. It is through this relationship that we were created to grow and mature. Moses did not have a vibrant mature relationship with God in Egypt because the bible tells us  in Exodus chapter  3, as Moses tended this father-in-law’s flocks he encountered God.

Moses struggled with those who oppressed his people and still today we struggle with the oppression we face in our daily lives. It is through our relationship with God which brings us to a place of speaking in love, acting in love and giving in love which birthing life in others rather than release the pain in our hearts which can build up when someone does something we don’t agree with.

We would do well to reflect upon the life of Moses; for as he grew in his relationship with God, he learned to follow God and as he followed God, he saw God set his people free!

Faith of a Child!

2 04 2013

Girl sitting by the SeaLast time I shared the story about my grand-daughter and the woodpecker that wouldn’t go away. And today I want to share with you the best part her activated faith!

“But when you ask for something, you must have faith and not doubt.

Anyone who doubts is like an ocean wave tossed around in a storm.”

James 1:6

I went home and I prayed as never before for God to answer my grand-daughter’s prayers. I hoped and I believed for God to keep his creatures away from my daughter’s home. We have a big God and He desires to expand our faith and to believe trusting him for all our needs.

Two days later I went over to care for my grand-daughters again and the first thing my three-year old grand-daughter told me was she had been prayingwoodpecker faithfully and the woodpecker had not come back! I rejoiced and so did she.

We had a great day, not a worry or concern about the woodpecker!

That afternoon as my three-year old grand-daughter got ready for her nap she once again asked if we could pray to keep the woodpecker away and so we did. My grand-daughter brought home the truth of James 1:6, we must have faith and not doubt.

I don’t doubt she continues to pray for God to keep the woodpecker away while I marvel as how she has inspired a deeper relationship with God in her home. They are all believing for and celebrating in God’s deliverance from the woodpecker and so am I!

It is my hope and prayer that each of us remember and celebrate our deliverance and have faith without doubt for our God is great and greatly to be praised.

Blessings and Complete Joy,

Millie

Remembering Our Deliverance

30 03 2013

Girl sitting by the SeaAs Jews celebrate Pesach (Passover) and Christians celebrate the resurrection of Christ I rejoice at how real the Lord is in this holy season, as we all remember our Father’s gifts to us!

How we remember/celebrate the Lord’s work in the past influences the faith we are willing to mustard to believe for today. This became very real recently as I was caring for my grand-daughters.

On the first day my three-year old grand-daughter shared her fear of the woodpecker who was pecking on metal of the chimney outside her room for the last two weeks. Her mama shared how each morning she faithfully threw rocks at the bird to scare it away. Today the bird did not leave even after she struck it. So as we heard the bird pecking, I told my grand-daughters about how God delivered me from a bee which would not stop flying around me.

This story activated my young grand-daughter’s faith because later after mama had left we heard the woodpecker once again, so as the girls were becoming upset I suggested we pray.  Standing in their room, as the woodpecker tapped on the chimney, my grand-daughters and I prayed and the bird went away. We were all excited and had a great morning. Several hours later after their mama came home and my youngest grand-daughter was preparing to go down for her nap, she asked her mama if they could pray to Jesus to keep the bird away.

Remembering and celebrating God’s deliverance will empower and release others to believe for their!

Join me next time as we see the impact of a three-year old’s faith!

Blessings and Complete Joy,

Millie

Miracle of Deliverance

15 01 2011

Last time we talked about the Miracle of Truth. Today we finish our Nine Holy Miracle series by looking at the ninth and final miracle, the miracle of Deliverance.

The miracle that delivers from evil influence:

You can open any hell if you share it.

Psalm 72:12 tells us God “delivers the needy who cry out, the afflicted who have no one to help.” When we are faced with evil influence, it becomes necessary to tell someone, even when no one else is around, God is always there.

We can expect God to answer when we share what we are going through with him. I know that when I am in the depth of struggling with evil influences, sharing with God and others always changes first my attitude and then the situation.

Currently am working on my first book, and this week I struggled with the fact that I don’t like to read trauma stories, so how can I write one. I opened that hell with God and then with several close friends and as I did I began to understand the reasons I don’t care for most trauma books. The number one reason is they focus too much on the trauma and not on how to thrive. I saw that I was struggling NOT to write a sensational account of my life which the world would hunger after like decadent chocolate, choosing instead to write an account that takes the focus off the trauma and on to my God.

Hebrews 12:1 tell us, “Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us.” I found as I shared with my God and my close friends, (my great cloud of witnesses) I was able to throw off everything that hindered me and the sin that so easily entangled me, now that is true deliverance!

As we finish this series of Nine Holy Miracles, I leave you with these words from Philippians 4:9:

Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me–put it into practice.

And the God of peace will be with you.

Blessings and Complete Joy,

Mildred
