Can I Use My Gifts for God’s Glory?

1 10 2013

5 tree finishedWe are finishing the series on Kingdom Gifts also known as the 5 fold ministry  by answering the question; can I use my gifts for God’s Glory?

Even when we have overcome the first two questions: Does God really give good gifts and will I ever be used by God, we can be plagued by doubt.

Isaiah 62:10 tells us “Pass through, pass through the gates! Prepare the way for the people. Build up, build up the highway! Remove the stones. Raise a banner for the nations.”

God needs, wants and desires His people to prepare the way. Our ability to hit it out of the park isn’t an issue when we know our gifts, deal with what binds and hinders us and come into maturity. Yet our final lesson is to learn what it means in different situations to use our gifts for God’s glory!

In baseball a manager may ask a player to bunt, walk or to hit a sacrifice fly. These are not as impressive to the fan, but to the manager having a player who can do what itWilderness Retreat 2013 takes, according to his direction makes him the most valuable player on the team!

To use our gifts for God’s glory is to know what is required. Recently, God asked me to step away, to bunt (allowing another to get on base) which meant a trip to Brookings fell apart after several months of preparation. I was sad, as were those on the team and yet, because the trip was cancelled one of the team was able to come and join us at retreat which is where God really wanted her to be!

The Kingdom of God has a different set of perimeters and we would do well to keep Matthew 25:34 – 40 in mind, for then Jesus will say, “Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world.”

God is not looking for the great or grand things; He is looking for those who are willing to join Him in building the Kingdom of God!

Blessings and Complete Joy,

Millie

You are an Overcomer!

2 10 2012

While praying on the radio, affirming we are all overcomers, I was reminded of this verse in Revelations:

“And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.” Rev 12:11 (KJV)

The gift of Christ’s blood gave you the ability to overcome, but to become someone who overcomes you must act by opening your mouth. What are the truths the Lord has stored up in you? What have you overcome?

We don’t overcome a fear until we face it. We have to express the truth for then the truth sets us free. I think of all the residual anger and unforgiveness I had toward my husband and Portland before I prayed the prayer I shared last time, and now I am free. I had to choose and take action to confess, repent and forgive first to myself and God and then to my husband. I have such joy because I am walking out the words of my testimony!

Don’t be afraid of the truth that God has stirring within you. Allow yourself to overcome by the blood of the Lamb and the word of your testimony. You are more than your faults and the trauma you have endured, you are a new man, for you have overcome!

Blessings and Complete Joy,

Millie

David’s Joy

28 07 2012

Last time we talked about David allowing the Lord to lead, direct and guide him. Today we are going to talk about the effect this relationship has on David’s life.

Psa 16:9  Because of this my heart is glad, and my glory is full of joy:

while my flesh takes its rest in hope.

David’s hope rested in the Lord’s leading, directing and guiding of his life. Literally David’s heart was glad, his flesh rested and his life was full of joy!

No matter what is going on, as we allow the Lord to lead, direct and guide us we can have something others can’t fathom, joy as our hearts are glad and our flesh can take it rest in hope.

As I sit writing this post I have four tabernacle talks to get ready for the Complete Joy Ministries retreat in two weeks. I have the concepts but the words are still in the throne room of God. My heart is glad and I am full of joy for my flesh takes its rest in hope, knowing at the proper time the Lord will release the message which I am to give at retreat.

Allowing the Lord to lead, direct and guide you affords you the confidence to rest.

Blessings and Complete Joy,

Millie

Keys to Believing!

17 03 2012

Recently I met my prayer partner, Rebecca, for lunch. Usually we pray on the phone together once a week, but today we wanted to pray in person because our needs were more pressing. She was sitting in her car when I arrived, so we both go out of our cars to go into the restaurant. After she closed the car door, suddenly she began checking her pockets and hunting in her purse for she realized she had locked her keys in the car. I told her not to worry that I would take her home as she had done for me in the past and we went on and had a nice lunch.

As we finished eating we took time to pray together, Rebecca prayed for me and then I prayed for her, asking the Lord to do for my friend what He had on two occasions done for me, to put her keys which had been locked in the car into her pocket.

As we finished praying I share with Rebecca why I asked God to put her keys back in her pocket and how twice over the last three years after locking my keys in the trunk I asked God to put them in my pocket and he did. Both times in front of witnesses! So with anticipation she felt in the same pockets she had checked before we entered the restaurant and they were there!

James 1:6 tells; when we ask God we must believe and not doubt, because he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind.  God put those keys back in my friend’s pocket because she believed!

God created the universe so moving a set of keys was no big deal, except to us!

Blessings and Complete Joy,

Millie

Texting through tired tears

25 07 2011

I spent the last 6 months coordinating my friend’s wedding. The day after the wedding, I was tired, so when I got a text from my friend thanking me for all I did, I had no other response than joyful tears.

Through my joyful tears, I sent my response.  Then looking in horror at the screen for I saw she couldn’t possibly make any sense of what I had typed, so I laughed and texted her “sorry texting through tired tears”.

At the wedding I saw God releasing blessings as he created this new family; some I knew, a loving mother to a young son and a seasoned father to an old son, the most surprising was how this new family embraced the new wife releasing unconditional love into her live as never before.

I felt as if for a moment I was seeing what happens in heaven as we come to know Christ and God himself embraces us with his unconditional love!

Needless to say, I am still in awe at what I witnessed as God released his love in and through this new family which is established on the firm foundation of Christ. God has marvelous plans for this family and I believe for each of us too as we embrace his unconditional love!

Blessings and Complete Joy,

Mildred

Thirst vs. Blessing

21 05 2011

This is the second blog in the series called Murmuring Defeats God’s blessings. We will be looking today at the first of three causes of murmuring.

People who murmur are dissatisfied with things around them and rather than being part of the solution they become part of the pollution by murmuring.

Exodus 15:24 tells us of the people grumbling (murmuring) against Moses when they said “What are we to drink?” The Israelites had just crossed the Red Sea and had been walking for three days when they became thirst.

Most people in America have never experienced being thirsty like this, unless you have been living on the street or survived a disaster, because water is plentiful in many places. The closest I have ever come was while living in rural Alaska when our electricity would go out we had no water coming up from the well. It would have been easy for me to murmur against God in these situations since I had three small children and it never seemed to fail that my husband would be off traveling on business.

My trust in God grew because He always got us through, we had a working camp stove, and food in the house.  I remember each morning I would look to see if we had fresh snow out on the deck, which I could bring inside so that we had clean water to drink. I learned so much about trusting God in Alaska while my husband was traveling.

In Exodus 15:25 we are reminded when we trust God like Moses did, God can make even the most bitter of circumstances sweet as He did with the water at Marah.

Blessings and Complete Joy,

Mildred

Entering the Gates of Righteousness

7 05 2011

As some of you know I am on the radio most Sunday mornings at 6am in Portland, Oregon on KKPZ 1330AM.

May 1st was a special program because we invited everyone who is involved in the Sunday Morning Going Up to the High Places Program to be together on the radio. It is always great to be with other intercessors and experience the move of God as we pray.

Jackie who leads the first Sunday program has a heart after God and as he opened the program the Lord began to speak of righteousness. As the program went on, righteousness became the theme and oh how we were blessed as the Lord took us to Psalm 118.

As we closed the program we focused in on verse 19 – 21

Open for me the gates of righteousness; I will enter and give thanks to the LORD. This is the gate of the LORD through which the righteous may enter. I will give you thanks, for you answered me; you have become my salvation.

Each of us realized God was doing something very special and so when we finished the program we entered through the gates of righteousness. Since then I have been focusing in on righteousness and have allowed God to work as He wills in me.

God is calling us to a righteous life, because he loves us and wants us to be with him, will you come?

Visit my Intercessors Heart page for the prayer, read the entry 5/4/2011, It is similar to the one we prayed on May 1st then visit the Empower page for more on the righteous life.

Blessings and Complete Joy,

Mildred
