How Committed are You?

1 04 2016

12755593_sToday we begin a new blog series, How committed are you? In this new season, we all must assess how committed we are to our God and following His plans for our lives.

Who is blind but my servant, and deaf like the messenger I send? Who is blind like the one in covenant with me, blind like the servant of the LORD?  You have seen many things, but you pay no attention; your ears are open, but you do not listen.”

Isa 42:19 – 20

In this passage the Lord is speaking to His people Israel who were supposed to be in a committed relationship with Him and willing to follow His plans in their lives, but clearly if you read on, they weren’t as committed to Him and He was to them.

Like Israel, you and I can take our relationship with the Lord and His plans us for granted. We can read our bible, go to church and yes even pray as if they were all part of a grand Christian check list, instead of that place where God releases His plans and strategies.  This is a new day and a new season. Do you hear the Lord calling you into a greater level of relationship? Are you willing to be fed and equipped with new manna you will need to enter new territories where you have never been before?

Join me next time as we explore how we as His servants can become deaf.

Blessings and Complete Joy,

Millie

The Relationship that Sustain in a Shifting Atmosphere!

1 05 2015

11087581_sIn our last post we opened a series on our ever shifting atmosphere and the need for maturity. These words are key, for they reveal the difference between walking in maturity and walking in our own strength.

If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love,

I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal.

If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing.

If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast,

but do not have love, I gain nothing.

1Co 13:1 – 3

Before there is obedience, before their is maturity leading naturally into authority, there must be an encounter with God our Father. It is through this relationship that we were created to grow and mature. Moses did not have a vibrant mature relationship with God in Egypt because the bible tells us  in Exodus chapter  3, as Moses tended this father-in-law’s flocks he encountered God.

Moses struggled with those who oppressed his people and still today we struggle with the oppression we face in our daily lives. It is through our relationship with God which brings us to a place of speaking in love, acting in love and giving in love which birthing life in others rather than release the pain in our hearts which can build up when someone does something we don’t agree with.

We would do well to reflect upon the life of Moses; for as he grew in his relationship with God, he learned to follow God and as he followed God, he saw God set his people free!

Blessings and Complete Joy,

Millie

God’s Gift of Provision!

30 04 2013

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAIn this post, we continue exploring the gifts we receive from God through our prayer relationship.  The first gift was love, the second peace, the third revelation. These gifts can come over and over again as the Lord pours out on you, strengthening and encouraging as you become whom He created you to be. The fourth gift is provision which is the topic of this post today.

(You can begin reading the entire series by visiting our post dated April 9th. We pick up the prayer shawl story where we left off last time.)

We pray and receive God’s love, we pray and receive God’s peace, we pray and receive God’s revelation which prepares to pray and receive God’s provision. This is a beautiful picture of both our relationship with God in prayer, which answers why so often we seem to wait so long for our yes, provision, to come.

This shawl is call Adversity.

This shawl is call Adversity.

God cares more about you than you could ever imagine. Remembering we are clay in the potter’s hands, Romans 9:20 – 23. It is in the heat of adversity as we wait, where we are molded by His love. It is as we wait, where He shares His peace and revelation, molding us into the beautiful vessels able to receive His provision!

We must let go of the notion of being like dogs running after scraps of provision from the table of a faceless god, and embrace our provision as a nature part of our relationship with our God, who truly loves us. We receive our Father’s love, peace and through revelation we become aware that our wants and what God knows we need maybe two very different things. As we come into this correct understanding, we can let go of our wants, to rightly embrace God’s provision which He desires us to receive.

Receiving God’s provision is less about what we want and more about who that provision will mold us into being, so much different then the world! God is great and greatly to be praised!

Blessings and Complete Joy,

Millie

Our God of Safety!

10 07 2012

As Psalm 16 opens we see David expressing his need and his choice to put his faith and his safety in God’s hands. David valued his relationship with God and knew that turning to God was his best choice. No other person could deliver him.

Psa 16:1  Keep me safe, O God: for in you I have put my faith.

How quickly we turn to a trusted friend, a family member or our spouse to save us, when in reality our best source for deliverance is the Lord. How many of us realize this and yet we turn away. Do we fear that God won’t save us or do want a quick fix from a human savior?  David put his faith in God to keep him safe.

We must resist the world which hungers for a quick fix, and the compassion of man. We must remember this truth that God love us more than he hates our sin. King David turned to God because he learned his God loved him despite his sin, and later in life God called him a man after his own heart.  God loves us knowing our human condition, so let us cry out, putting our faith and safety in our Father’s hand.

Blessings and Complete Joy,

Millie
