Transition, Believe it or NOT, part 4

14 07 2017

TransitionWe are in a series called Transition believe it or not! Today we will be looking at the transition of Yeshua (Jesus) found in Matthew 26:36 – 46. This is one of my favorite stories in the bible because it shows the depth of Yeshua’s human-ness. Not only is he the son of God he also functions mightily as the son of man who wrestles with his transition in the garden of Gethsemane.

Let’s set the stage, Yeshua is walking with his disciples in Jerusalem, they come to the garden of Gethsemane, an olive grove. This is nothing out of the ordinary, Yeshua does this all the time, taking Peter and the sons of Zebedee with him as he prays. Our Messiah the son of man was sorrowful and his heart was heavy with the weight of what the following hours would bring.

Our messiah had to choose to give up his life, after all he was the son of God and no one

could take his life. There was pain and suffering, there would be separation, and all the hate his loving man would endure. This transition was as real as the clothes he wore so it shouldn’t surprise us that he struggled. As with Mary, Joseph and Peter, now Yeshua himself came into agreement as he said these words “O my Father, if this cup may not pass away from me, except I drink it, thy will be done.”

Moments later, his walk to the cross began. Join me next time as we finish this series Transition believe it or not!

Blessings & Complete Joy!

How Committed are You, part 4

17 06 2016

12755593_sWe are in the series, How committed are you? As we close this series, I realize that as readers you might be left with a question to ponder. What is revelational knowledge? So today we are going to talk about revelational knowledge before we begin our new series next time on Kingdom of Heaven where revelational knowledge is key to moving forward.

What is revelational knowledge? Using the Webster’s dictionary we find that revelation is the act of revealing or communicating divine truth. Others might consider it more of an enlightenment or astonish disclosure.

Much of the bible is the result of revelational knowledge. No human was with God during creation. God himself revealedOregon Coast to man, “His spirit hovered over the surface of the water” and His creation of light.

Revelational knowledge changes us, empowers us and causes us to strike out into paths we would never alone have walked.

It was spoken of Yeshua, in Heb 12:2  “For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God”. It was the revelational knowledge which allowed him to finish well and sit at the right hand of God.

As you ponder revelational knowledge, remember we are by God’s design being pressed, stretched and finally torn, so that the dross of the old season will disappear!

Blessings and Complete Joy,

Millie

Meaning of a Savior – part 6

11 12 2015

Is 9We are in a series Meaning of a Savior and last time we looked at the first attribute, Wonderful Counselor today we will be looking at the second attribute Mighty God as we continue to explore Isaiah 9:6.

“For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.”

Isa 9:6

As we look at this attribute “mighty God” we see Isaiah connecting his people to their messiah. The mighty hand of God which delivered Israel was once again reaching out to mankind through Yeshua (Jesus) to redeem, and restore theirmighty Godjpg destiny forever.

To be mighty is to be extraordinary, and this use of the term mighty for our Messiah is one that helps us to identify him as our savior for it took an extraordinary man to walk as a human being, facing all of life’s challenges and overcoming man’s sin nature to become the lamb of God who took away the sins of the world. Only a mighty God could walk the extra mile which was required to redeem us all!

I am in awe of a mighty God who came to fight the battle, only he could win!

Join me next time as we unpack the attribute of “Everlasting Father”.

Blessings and Complete Joy,

Millie
