Recently the Lord has been highlighting several truths about the Kingdom of Heaven. No surprise they were revealed as I spent more time with him. They are concerning trauma, drama and pain, the other is God-given or “natural” consequences.
“Train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old he will not depart from it.” Proverbs 22:6
There are natural God-given consequences in life, set forth by him to help us life a righteous life. In America and around the world some have made it their personal goal to protect others from “natural” consequences.
From disciplining our children to unwanted pregnancy man has been working to circumvent God-given “natural” consequences. Consequences are the source of our trauma, drama and pain so we are tempted to circumvent them. We do our children, ourselves and others a disservice when we take such actions, because we do not learn to respect and revere our creator.
There is an awe when we see how God-given consequences keep us from doing those things that we know in our heart we shouldn’t do. Unfortunately things like bullying take over, because God-given consequences have been superseded by man. You and I have to come to a place where we are willing to respect God-given consequences, allowing things to naturally happen and quit stepping in to block them from shape who we and others are.
