Transition, Believe it or NOT, part 4

14 07 2017

TransitionWe are in a series called Transition believe it or not! Today we will be looking at the transition of Yeshua (Jesus) found in Matthew 26:36 – 46. This is one of my favorite stories in the bible because it shows the depth of Yeshua’s human-ness. Not only is he the son of God he also functions mightily as the son of man who wrestles with his transition in the garden of Gethsemane.

Let’s set the stage, Yeshua is walking with his disciples in Jerusalem, they come to the garden of Gethsemane, an olive grove. This is nothing out of the ordinary, Yeshua does this all the time, taking Peter and the sons of Zebedee with him as he prays. Our Messiah the son of man was sorrowful and his heart was heavy with the weight of what the following hours would bring.

Our messiah had to choose to give up his life, after all he was the son of God and no one

Christ in the Garden of Gethsemene, Heinrich Hofmann, 1890

Christ in the Garden of Gethsemane, Heinrich Hofmann, 1890

could take his life. There was pain and suffering, there would be separation, and all the hate his loving man would endure. This transition was as real as the clothes he wore so it shouldn’t surprise us that he struggled. As with Mary, Joseph and Peter, now Yeshua himself came into agreement as he said these words “O my Father, if this cup may not pass away from me, except I drink it, thy will be done.”

Moments later, his walk to the cross began. Join me next time as we finish this series Transition believe it or not!

Blessings & Complete Joy!

Meaning of a Savior – Part 8

25 12 2015

Is 9We are finishing up our series Meaning of a Savior. In my last post we looked at the third attribute, Everlasting Father, and so today we look at the final attribute of Isaiah 9:6, Prince of Peace. If you would like to read the complete series please go back to November 6, 2015.

“For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.”

Isa 9:6

The final attribute for Yeshua (Christ) in this passage is Prince of peace. As the prince of peace he established grace in the kingdom of God. It was in peace that he came, as a baby in a manger to forever become the spotless the lamb of God who took away the sins of the world. It was upon these princely shoulders God established his kingdom. Not as the world establishes their kingdom through domination and war, but ratherbaby in a manger through peace. It was through Yeshua that this words of Philippians 4:7 were forever establish; “And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”

Accepting Yeshua as your messiah (savior) he then become the prince of peace in your life and with that he brings an amazing sense of peace no matter the situation, guarding your heart and mind as you focus on him and not on what is happening in the world around you.

Blessings and Complete Joy,

Millie

Agreement with God?

12 09 2014

Last time we talked about wrestling to come into agreement with God. Today we are going to talk about what does it mean to come into agreement with God.

To agree is to come into harmony. Agreement is the act of coming into harmony.

Wrestling come as we press our humanity, coming to terms with God’s will and its cost and impact upon our lives, just as Jesus did in the garden of Gethsemane.

Jesus has a living relationship with his father in heaven and so when he was pressed to come into harmony (agreement), the wrestling finished quickly, taking just Key to the kingdomone evening. The more we know our father in heaven, the more we can press in with confidence knowing we will come into agreement with God’s will (his plans and purposes) in a given situation.

These days even born again Christians don’t have an active, living relationship with their heavenly father and so when pressed they look at God through the eyes of another, maybe a well meaning pastor, a Sunday school teacher or worst the examples of authority figures they do know. Chances are no one in their right mind would want to come into agreement with a legalistic, vindictive God as they portray him, not even Jesus!

The key to coming into agreement is in having an active, living relationship with your heavenly father. God will guard your wrestling as He did with Jesus, for even the guards did not show up to arrest Jesus until after the son of God was in agreement with his father in heaven!

Blessings and Complete Joy,

Millie

What is Binding Your Gifts?

24 08 2013

5 tree finishedWe are in a series on the 5 fold ministry gifts and today we are looking at what hinders you and I from exercising our gifts from the fullest extent possible.

Many would jump to the easy answer, the devil and the demonic forces, quoting Ephesians 6, we wrestle not with flesh and blood but the rulers and principalities of darkness. I call this the easy answer because it is always easier to avoid and deflect to another rather than looking at ourselves.

I acknowledge these forces can be a hindrance, but the greatest barriers are within us. They are the physical trauma which affects our body, drama which is our soul’s expression of our feelings, thoughts and emotions and the pain we carry in our spirit!

These three trauma, drama and pain influence and often control everything we do, including how weperseverance walk out our spiritual gifts. There is a fourth influencer, it is our maturity.  So what can we do, because all of us have trauma, drama and pain, and we all need maturity in one area or another.

The first think we must do is stop excepting and begin accepting that we are human!

To Except is to leave out. To exclude.

To Accept is to receive with consent. To understand.

Jesus accepted his humanness. He never said if only I was not human, rather we see Him in the garden accepting his humanness and choosing to fight the good fight as He struggled in His humanness to do the will of His Father in heaven.

May these words from Hebrews encourage you!

Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.

Hebrews 12:1 – 3

Millie

Praise Christ Desired!

16 02 2013

7 P of the Life of Christ - 1We have walk through the 7P’s of the Life of Christ. We began with God’s plan & purpose, and into Christ’s choice to follow the path God. Entered with Christ into God’s presence where he received patience, and perseverance. Today we come to the final post in this series, as we look at the 7th P, praise.

“Then I heard all beings in heaven and on the earth and under the earth and in the sea offer praise. Together, all of them were saying, ‘Praise, honor, glory, and strength forever and ever to the one who sits on the throne and to the Lamb!'”

Rev 5:13

Today we look at the power of praise. After Christ died, went to hell and rose again, then he revealed himself to his disciples and finally he ascended to heaven, where the real party began and continues today as Christ return victorious to his Father in Heaven.

The book of Jude tells us, “Offer praise to God our Savior because of our Lord Jesus Christ! Only God can keep you from falling and make you pure and joyful in his glorious presence. Before timecrown 123rf began and now and forevermore, God is worthy of glory, honor, power, and authority. Amen.” Jud 1:24

All mankind will one day praise the one who sits on the throne, the Lamb of God who took away the sins of the world. This praise is everlasting and it is the only praise Christ look for, not the praise of man but the praise which awaited him in heaven!

You and I must not look for the praise of man, rather we must look for the praise of our Father in Heaven as Christ did.

Blessings and Complete Joy,

Millie

Christ Teaches Us Perseverance

12 02 2013

7 P of the Life of Christ - 1We have been looking at the 7P’s of the Life of Christ and today we are looking at the result of patience, perseverance, the sixth P.

With all prayer and supplication praying at all seasons in the Spirit, and watching thereunto in all perseverance and supplication for all the saints…

Eph 6:18

Christ was able to have perseverance because he lived with a strong purpose. No other person ever had the strength of purpose (perseverance) Christ had. We don’t think about the perseverance of Christ, yet though he was fully God he was also fully human, having the same pulls we encounter everyday.

I think of all the things he had to steer clear of so that he did not sin. What a weight he carried and yet he did it willingly all the way to the cross.

We can have that same perseverance as Christ did only when we are willing to live with strong purpose. Perseverance is what it takes to make it all the way to the end whether you are struggling to perseverancemake it through a tough day at home or work, or you are fasting and your stomach is screaming for food.

Christ knew perseverance gets it fuel, not from man but from the presence of Lord, so as you struggle to persevere look not to man or your situation, but rather look to the Lord and he will see you through to the end!

Millie

Path – Christ’s Sacred Journey

2 02 2013

7 P of the Life of Christ - 1In the last several blogs we have been talking about the 7P’s of the life of Christ. The first was plan, the second purpose and today we look at the third P, path.

“Your word is a lamp for my feet and a light for my path.”

Psa 119:105

“You are my God. Show me what you want me to do,

and let your gentle Spirit lead me in the right path.”

Psa 143:10

We can be certain Christ’s knowledge of the scriptures gave him strength and lighted his path as he walked the path God had laid out for him.  Christ quoted the Old Testament scripture to his pathdisciple concerning his life, one such verse “he was wounded for our transgressions” is found in Isaiah 53:5.

In the garden of Gethsemane as Christ was struggling I am sure when not man could stand beside him, the Holy Spirit kept watch, giving him the strength, comfort and courage to continue down the path to our salvation.

Finally, the path of each person’s life is a sacred one, it can be though of like a covenant between you and the Lord, for if you walk the path the Lord has laid out for you, he will be a lamp, lighting the dark corners and will send the Holy Spirit to guide you!

Tempter of the Soul of Man

8 12 2012

fallen angelWe are in the midst of a series called Who is the devil really? and today we look at the devil as tempter. We see him as the tempter since man was in the Garden of Eden. But today we look not at the fall of man but through the temptation of Jesus.

And the devil said unto him, If thou art the Son of God, command this stone that it become bread. And Jesus answered unto him, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone.

Luke 4:3-4

The devil knew who Jesus was and yet he could not help himself but to try to tempt him. The devil’s ego is great but the righteousness of Jesus stood firm.

When the devil sees the righteousness of God in someone, he has to tempt them. He desires to control the soul for he knows the spirit of man is lost to him for eternity! The mind, will and emotions, also known as the soul of man is the domain of the tempter or so he believes.

Jesus shows us how using scripture brings our soul into alignment with God stopping the tempter dead in hisTemptation of Jesus tracks. It didn’t mean the tempter was vanquished, but he departed for a season.

Temptation is not a constant thing, we are reminded in Luke 4:13. If the temptation was a constant thing we would overcome it and be done. The tempter of the soul of man lives in the shadows, waiting to reveal his temptation at the moment of his greatest advantage, as with Jesus as he came out of the desert.  Jesus overcame as he allowed the righteousness of God to be his sword and his shield.

Oh may we do the same!

Blessings and Complete Joy,

Millie

Life after Transition

17 11 2012

Today we finish our series on transition as we look once again at Jesus the man, as he interacted with his disciples after his resurrection in John chapter 20.

After Jesus had greeted them again, he said, “I am sending you, just as the Father has sent me.” Then he breathed on them and said, “Receive the Holy Spirit.

 Joh 20:21-22

After Jesus died, the disciples did not know what the scriptures said about Jesus being raised to life. Often in transition, we are just as shocked as his disciples were about seeing Jesus. We think transition is the end of a relationship when in reality it can be the beginning of an even deeper one, as with disciples receiving the Holy Spirit.

In our lives it is tough to walk with someone when they are leaving, whether it is leaving a job, a marriage or a church. We must work through our feelings, as with Thomas who had to see his hands, or Peter who needed to be cleansed of his shame. We must understand God intends for transitions to bring greater blessings so we must choose to stay in relationship during and after transition.

Jesus had to choose to come back and interact with his disciples, which he did with joy and the disciples had to choose to recognize and accept his presences in their lives after the transition had happened for the blessing to be secure!

May you always receive God’s blessings as you walk through transition!

Blessings and Complete Joy,

Millie

Finishing Well Transition ~ Trust

10 11 2012

Last time we talked about the first phase of the finishing well transition which requires faith. Which begins by being tune with the Lord for it allows you to look beyond yourself as you tell others, giving them time to express their feelings and emotions.  Today we are looking at the second phase of the three phases of a finishing well (leaving) transition.

In these second phase you must trust for you are preparing and releasing others to take the ministry to its next level.

I am telling you the truth: those who believe in me will do what I do—yes, they will do even greater things, because I am going to the Father.

John 14:12

By these words Jesus prepared and birthed hope in his disciples to take the ministry to the next level. Even today, these words are encouraging people like you and me to take ministry to the next level.

When you are preparing and releasing others, building them up in the truths of who God has created them to be, there will come tender moments, like in Mark 14:30 where Jesus warned and prepared Peter for the moment he would deny him.

Are you willing to trust God, preparing and releasing others as Jesus did?

Jesus knew full well he was leaving his ministry in the hands of those who were above all human, yet Jesus trusted their flaws to drive them into a deeper relationship with his Father in Heaven.

Blessings and Complete Joy,

Millie
