Romans 8:35 – A Simple Choice?

4 08 2017

QuestionsIn this post, we are exploring this question… Who shall separate us from the love of Messiah?

Romans 8:35 reads: Who shall separate us from the love of Messiah? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword?

What is Paul really asking us? He tells us that tribulations, distress, persecution all the bad things that happen to us by the hands of another, do not separate us from God’s love. He adds to this list, nakedness, danger, or sword, these things represent the absence of necessary good in our everyday lives. None of these separate us. Paul goes on to tell us in verse 38 that not even death can separate us from the love of God.rf123

Then who separates us from the Love of God? If it isn’t the events or people and clearly Paul shows us God loves us, then we have to look at ourselves.

What separates you and I (and the world) from the love of God is our denial of God and rejecting the gift of our Messiah. It is our choice to separate. If we choose by an act of our wills not to believe in God and receive by faith the gift of our savior, we separate ourselves from the love of God.

So the choices we make can shuts down our ability to receive the fullness of God’s love which is ever around us like the air we breathe.

As we go through life even after we have believed in our Messiah, we must choose to walk toward God by engaging with HIM, not turning or walking away from HIM in our daily lives. In making this simple choice we can receive the fullness of our Messiah’s love!

Blessings & Complete Joy!

Millie

Poor in Spirit – Kingdom of Heaven – part 3

5 08 2016

10606784_sWe are in a series about the Kingdom of Heaven. Today we are looking at the poor in Spirit!

Jesus speaking in Matthew 5:3 “Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

At first glance these words blessed and poor seem to be polar opposites. They are use by our Messiah to awakens us to the truth we are all poor in spirit. We are not the spiritual giants we want to be, we are not God and yet the kingdom of heaven belongs to us.

Our Lord and Savior wanted us to know God isn’t looking for spiritual giants. He isn’t looking for everyone to be a Billy or Franklin Graham, or a Mother Teresa or a Cindy Jacobs. God is looking for the Susie the homemakers and the Joe the handyman’s who know they need a relationship with God and are willing to seek Everyday family cologeHim with all their hearts.

Our Messiah said to us, it is okay to mourn and it is okay to be meek. It is okay to hunger and thirst for righteousness and to be merciful. To have a pure heart and to be a peacemaker of great value in the Kingdom of Heaven.

In this day and age of the Hillary Clinton’s and the Donald Trump’s God is using these words to say to us, be who I created you to be for the Kingdom of Heaven belong to you!

Join me next time when we continue looking at the Kingdom of Heaven from Matthew 5 and the key of righteousness.

Blessings and Complete Joy,

Millie

How Committed are You?

1 04 2016

12755593_sToday we begin a new blog series, How committed are you? In this new season, we all must assess how committed we are to our God and following His plans for our lives.

Who is blind but my servant, and deaf like the messenger I send? Who is blind like the one in covenant with me, blind like the servant of the LORD?  You have seen many things, but you pay no attention; your ears are open, but you do not listen.”

Isa 42:19 – 20

In this passage the Lord is speaking to His people Israel who were supposed to be in a committed relationship with Him and willing to follow His plans in their lives, but clearly if you read on, they weren’t as committed to Him and He was to them.

Like Israel, you and I can take our relationship with the Lord and His plans us for granted. We can read our bible, go to church and yes even pray as if they were all part of a grand Christian check list, instead of that place where God releases His plans and strategies.  This is a new day and a new season. Do you hear the Lord calling you into a greater level of relationship? Are you willing to be fed and equipped with new manna you will need to enter new territories where you have never been before?

Join me next time as we explore how we as His servants can become deaf.

Blessings and Complete Joy,

Millie

How to MOVE in this new season, Part 5

25 03 2016

moveThis is the fifth post in our series How to MOVE in this new season.  Today we are unpacking the E for Equipped in our acrostic MOVE.

All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.

2Ti 3:16

To be equipped is to be furnished with something, others would use the word provision.

In 2 Timothy 3 we see God thoroughly equipping the servant of God with the gospel for every good work. In the Old Testament we see the people of God equipped for  physical battle. In every case when the people of God are thoroughly equipped, they are fully prepared for the task at hand.

In this season we need to be ready for God to furnish those things we need. Currently I have been asking for strategies in how to move forward for the Oregon Tabernacle Tent (OTT) as well as for Complete Joy Ministries.

I was praying for God’s strategy for how to re-brand OTT since the vinyl lettering I had putOTT logo on last year came coming off. In faith I removed the rest of the lettering and chose to wait for God to reveal what we should do. In the most unlikely place a man I knew gave me a name of a christian seamstress who can do the job and she is only about 3 miles from my office, so no need to take it down to Salem which is 50 miles away!

Watching for how God will equip the work He has called you do is the final key to our movement in this and any season. When you are equipped to do the work of service movement will be easier and you will find the job goes much more smoothly than if you walk forward ahead of God without His equipping!

Don’t worry or move into anxiousness as you wait to be equipped, because tomorrow God may equip you and call you to move!

Blessings and Complete Joy,

Millie

How to MOVE in the new season, Part 4

18 03 2016

moveThis is the fourth post in our series How to MOVE in this new season.  Today we are unpacking the V for victory in our acrostic MOVE.

“In fact, this is love for God: to keep his commands. And his commands are not burdensome, for everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith.”

1Jn 5:3-4

Often when we think of the word victory it is in terms of defeating the enemy! If we look at the deeper meaning of victory we see it as an achievement of mastery or success in a struggle or endeavor against odds or difficulties.

In the story called pushing against the rock, (author unknown, which you will find on our empower page) we find a man was given an assignment by the Lord to push against theman-pushing-rock-up-hill-ok-to-use rock with all his might. Looking at things from the man’s perspective he thought his victory was to get the rock all the way up the hill and when the rock didn’t move he began  feeling like a failure. At that moment the enemy came at him causing him to relax his efforts to push against the rock. As he enquired of the Lord about his failure the Lord revealed “Your calling was to be obedient and push, and to exercise your faith and trust in My wisdom, and this you have done.”

God’s victories in our life look so much different than how we and the world see them. God saw this man strong and vital because of pushing with all his might against the rock while he saw himself a failure. Like this man, through opposition we will grow and our abilities will far surpasses that which we used to have. Our faith, our trust and our wisdom is where God desires you and I to have the victory so we must push on our own rock, which might never move so we see amazing and profound victories rise in our spirit man!

Join me next time when unpack the next key to moving in the new season, E for Equipped.

Blessings and Complete Joy,

Millie

How to MOVE in the New Season – part 2

4 03 2016

moveThis is the second post in our series How to MOVE in this new season.  Today we are unpacking the M for motive in our acrostic MOVE.

“All a person’s ways seem pure to them, but motives are weighed by the LORD.”

Pro 16:2

Motive as Webster’s defines it is something that causes us to act.

Let’s explore the motives of the average parent. On a good day a parent picks up the crying infant out of love, while on a tough day that same parent might pick up the same child because the crying is bothering them. The same parent, the same child, the same crying,Baby different motives. Motives fuel the whys of what we do. I stop at the red light because I want to honor the laws of my state, keeping me safe. On another day my motives may cause me to push through, running that same light.

We must take ownership of our motives understanding we are human. We need the Lord to weigh them. As we move in this new season, the motives of our movements may seem pure to us but we must receive the revelation of how the Lord sees our motives, helping us to walk with integrity and righteousness.

Join me next time when unpack the next key to moving in the new season, O for obedience.

Blessings and Complete Joy,

Millie

How to MOVE in the new season!

26 02 2016

moveWe are beginning a new series called “How to MOVE in this new season”. We will be using the acrostic MOVE to explain several important aspects of our movement in this season.

To Move is to go continuously from one point to another!

We take as our inspiration from these two verses:

And I will put my Spirit in you and move you to follow my decrees

and be careful to keep my laws.

Eze 36:27

“For in him we live and move and have our being.”

As some of your own poets have said, “We are his offspring.”

Act 17:28

We have to watch as we move forward in this season because there is so much that is passing by, whether it is the weekly services, maybe another conference or something else, we have to be aware of when and how to move so we stay in harmony with the plans and purposes of God!

We have to understand and know our motives; we have to be obedient to God. We have to walk with virtue and allow God to equip us, because without His equipping us, we might find ourselves off course or stranded in the middle of the night!

Join me next time as we look at the M in move, Motives!

Blessings and Complete Joy,

Millie

Letting God Behind the Curtain a Necessary Preparation

5 02 2016

2016 calendarWe began this series with a prophetic word for 2016 God intends to work in and through each of us! We learned last time that as we do the hard thing, to wait, God shines through us.  Today we look at the necessary preparation of Letting God Behind the Curtain.

Nevertheless, God’s solid foundation stands firm, sealed with this inscription: “The Lord knows those who are his,” and, “Everyone who confesses the name of the Lord must turn away from wickedness.”

Those who cleanse themselves from the latter will be instruments for special purposes, made holy, useful to the Master and prepared to do any good work.

2Ti 2:19 & 21

If you have been with the Lord for any period of time you might think, I have turned away from wickedness. I have accepted the Lord, I follow God’s commandments and years ago I broke strongholds and soul ties the enemy had in my life.

God would say, “good for you, but do you want my plan and purpose for your life? Do you want my will?” To be an instrument for His special purpose made holy for this season you and I must allow God to go to behind the curtain to the deep dark reaches of our souls and root out everything.

Personally I can become overwhelmed by God’s plans and purposes for my life and want to hide. When I become behind the curtainoverwhelmed I look not to the Lord with confidence but to the tangible, the known, my childhood and say who am I that He would choose to use me because my own parents didn’t.  As much as I have worked and wrestled I lack the ability to look to the Lord in critical situations with confidence so I must allow God to root out the last of this childhood pain and allow a deep trust and confidence in God’s choosing me to take up residence in that deep dark hiding place.

Don’t be afraid to let God go behind the curtain of where you are hiding, which keeps you from becoming who God created you to be!

Blessings and Complete Joy,

Millie

Shining While We Wait!

22 01 2016

2016 calendarWe began this series with a prophetic word for 2016 and the truth that God intends to work in and through each of us in 2016, so the light of the Lord to shine! Today we explore what it means to shine while you wait!

“Wait for the LORD; be strong and take heart and wait for the LORD.” Waiting is the hardest part, but it is well worth it.

Psalms 27:14

These words of Psalms 27, go deep within us as we struggle to wait for our assignments in 2016 to begin. For some it is because of illness, like a good friend I know, things aren’t going well for her. She has been ill and it has affected her life in many ways. Yet she is struggling to be strong, she is struggling to wait for the Lord to break through, she knows first hand that waiting is the hardest part, maybe you do too.

I am waiting for the birth of a grandchild, there is nothing I can do, I pray, I wait, I support and I love. Those are the same things I do as I walk with my friend. Whether it is looking from the outside as with my grandchild or if you are the one who is in the midst of the struggle like my friend, things are happening as you wait, you are becoming stronger, your will to wait for something to happen is where your faith shines through and your will becomes solid as a rock.

Christ in the Garden of Gethsemene, Heinrich Hofmann, 1890

Christ in the Garden of Gethsemene, Heinrich Hofmann, 1890

I have a beautiful picture of Yeshua kneeling on a rock in the garden of Gethsemane where he sweated blood and his disciples fell asleep three times. This picture always comforts me because it reminds me of the sacredness of our struggle to wait and how even in that moment his faith shined brightly for us to see.

Know waiting is an important part of life, and as scripture tells us, it is well worth it!

Blessings and Complete Joy,

Millie

Meaning of a Savior – Part 7

18 12 2015

Is 9We are in a series Meaning of a Savior and last time we looked at the third attribute Mighty God, so today we look at Everlasting Father as we explore Isaiah 9:6.

“For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.”

Isa 9:6

As we look at this attribute Everlasting Father we see Isaiah reminding Israel of those words, in I Chronicles 29:10 and following which expounds on the greatness, the power, the glory, the splendor and the majesty of the one who createdEverlasting Father them. Yet this attribute used purposefully by Isaiah connects Yahweh the God of the Old Testament to the His Son Yeshua (Jesus) the Messiah and savior of the world.

Yeshua came that none would parish, not Jew, not gentile, no matter the race, color or creed. Yeshua has the same attributes as his everlasting father, for he carries his power, his glory, his splendor and his majesty!

Join me next time as we unpack the final attribute of Isaiah 9:6, Prince of Peace.

Millie
